College Draft Pick Splits

First impressions of our new collegiate draftees, courtesy of you know who:

  • Evan Frederickson, LHP [1S]:
    Flyball pitcher (.61 GO/AO) with a 13.14 K/9 and a 7.29 BB/9. Both rates are even higher against lefties.
  • Cody Adams, RHP [2]:
1.77 GO/AO ratio is promising, as is his 2.28 BB/9, but his K/9 is disappointing at 7.58, and lefties absolutely annihilated him.
  • Logan Schafer, CF (L) [3]:
.370/.437/.608; despite being a left-handed hitter, Schafer hearteningly actually hit a little better vs. LHP than RHP.
  • Josh Romanski, LHP [4]:
GO/AO is almost neutral (1.10); like Adams, his BB/9 is good at 2.17, but his K/9 is blah at 7.22. Also like Adams, lefties killed him, even though he's left-handed himself.
  • Jose Duran, SS (R) [6]:
.383/.443/.560; like Schafer, platoon splits almost neutral.

[UPDATE] Splits now up for all collegiate draftees, including those from day two.

Platoon splits nuetral

Melvin long-term Ned (or whoever’s managing)- proofing the roster.

Frederickson could be a staff ace if he figures it out or a train wreck if he doesn’t.

Whenever prince is at first, he should charge the mound and yell "MEAT!"

My bet

He doesn’t make it to AAA, it sounds like he has nasty stuff… but ZERO control

The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws.

Nasty stuff with Zero control

Doesn’t that sound like a certain pitcher we already have at AAA? Give me a minute, the name will come to me….

Nope

Cirillo is announcing now.

"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"

Hey now...

Turnbow doesn’t have zero control. I actually think it’s in the negatives.

I forgot

Was turnbow one of those guys who got lasik surgery… if not, maybe the offseason surgery would give him a bit of confidence, and turn him back to a decent AAA pitcher!

The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws.

I think he had the surgery, and someone now needs to poke him in the eye.

I'm distrustful

of pitchers in the Brewers system with surnames ending in “rickson”.

C. Magruder scored, R. Weeks to second on balk

So true...

I would pay money to have my memory erased of any thoughts I had of Benny being a decent pitcher…

Splits for all collegiate draftees up now

Datagasm.

My favorite: Evan Bronson, 36th-round pick out of Trinity, posted a 102/19 K/BB in 79 innings. Yes please.

He's extremely quick and good.
