Is there any reason to be excited about David Welch?
This outing, and his recent 7 Inning no-hitter aside, the strike out/walk ratio is pretty meager, and he’s already 25. He’s a guy I’d like to be excited about, but I’m just not.

when did we get ben howard?
"If there is a more reactionary blog with idiotic commentary out there I'd be surprised." -On Bleed Cubbie Blue
we've had him all season
but he was doing longish middle relief (8×1.0 IP, 10×1.1 to 2.0 IP, mostly 6th & 7th inning duty) until being moved to the rotation recently…replacement for DiFelice, I guess.
Chris Cody sure dominating at WV
Was he injured until recently and is just getting his feet wet at Low-A like they did with Zach Braddock early on? Now four appearances with 25 IP, 24 K and just 13 hits and 3 walks…
He's the wrestler, right?
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
Yeah, he was injured
He was at A+ for Detroit when we acquired him last year, and we had him in A+ too. He was 23 then, which is old for A+, so 24 now in A is really askew. He’s going to be moved up soon, I’d have to think. He’s kind of a sleeper, not very good stuff, but good results. Think Will Inman, but old for his leagues instead of young.
He's extremely quick and good.
