Forgive the noob question, but what is game score and how is it calculated?
"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.

Game Score is a quick and dirty way to estimate the quality of a pitcher's start
- Start with 50 points.
- Add 1 point for each out recorded, (3 points per inning).
- Add 2 points for each inning completed after the 4th.
- Add 1 point for each strikeout.
- Subtract 2 points for each hit allowed.
- Subtract 4 points for each earned run allowed.
- Subtract 2 points for each unearned run allowed.
- Subtract 1 point for each walk.
You can find the best MLB game scores of the season here.

Thanks. Math usually pains me but this is easy to understand.

Goes to show we could've traded Gamel
there’s someone coming up behind him with the same skill set!
Also, cheese.
