Game Thread #93: Reds (44-49) at Brewers (51-41)
The only Brewers pitcher on more of a hot streak than Dave Bush, especially at home, is Manny Parra. Parra is holding opponents to a .646 OPS at Miller Park--basically, he turns the opposition lineup into nine Jason Kendalls on a bad day, only without the grit. Even more impressive, Parra has a 2.08 ERA in his last seven starts, including three scoreless outings in his last four.
Josh Fogg goes for the Reds, and the same positive things cannot be said about him.
And, oh yeah, don't know if you noticed, but the Brewers are currently leading in the NL Wild Card, with the second best record in the National League.
Game time is 7:05 CT, and here's the BR Game Preview.
Go Brewers!

Jeff, haven't you learned your lesson yet?
You shouldn’t talk about our pitchers’ awesomeness. You have to simply post that you promise we will not suck tonight.

Talking about awesomeness...

yesterday
was pretty noncommittal “But still, I shall not comment on the likely outcome of this game.” And there you said that Bush wasn’t as good as Parra. so you did not talk about awesomeness:P
commenting on the suckiness of the opposition = cool.
commenting on our own awesomeness = not cool;)
Just about every time it is stated that Sheets is a guaranteed win, we lose;) I just don’t want that to extend to the other pitchers.

Hopefully Parra
Can continue the streak tonight. I could use some good news after listening to this whole Favre saga today. Damn that man, it’s like becoming a widow, grieving, coming to terms, remarrying, and then your spouse comes back from the dead…what do you do???
"He's been very, very impressive," Yost said. "I mean really impressive. I mean really, really impressive."

Well, this undead spouse is asking for a divorce so (s)he can remarry
I would think the undead are fairly scant on legal privileges.
Zombies: the last population group it’s still okay to make fun of.

But I’m eagerly awaiting the Sunday lineup. I bet every bench player gets a start to give the regulars an extra day’s rest.

Edwin E. with a lead off single. Add in a couple Ks and a Jay Bruce bullet.

What is the Brewer’s position on negotiating during the season? Jockety prefers not to do it, which is, IMO, a leading factor as to why we will probably lose Dunn after this season
