Buster Olney on the Brewers Schedule
It's Insider-only, so I can only read the top part of the article (anyone have access to the rest?) but he points out:
"There is a team among the National League Central contenders with a distinct scheduling advantage: The Milwaukee Brewers.
Milwaukee has 67 games remaining, and of those, just 23 are against teams with records of .500 or better so far this season, by far the fewest in the division. Home games remaining: 33."

to add to the mix
Getting the Giants after the break means we get three excellent pitchers and not the other two who are much worse. LaRussa set up his rotation so that we avoid their lefty who is also probably their weakest link.

I won't jack his whole post ...
... but I’m pasting in the rest of the numbers from the relevant teams below the fold. (The Rockies, Diamondbacks, Mets and Marlins all have 35 home games left. I guess I’m excited about our glut of games against sub-500s, but I’d much rather be playing more than 50 percent of our remaining schedule at Miller.)
Chicago Cubs (67 games remaining)
Games against teams with records of .500 or better: 34. Home games: 32.
St. Louis Cardinals (66 games remaining)
Games against teams with records of .500 or better: 28. Home games: 34.
Philadelphia Phillies (66 games remaining)
Games against teams with records of .500 or better: 31. Home games: 31.
Florida Marlins (67 games remaining)
Games against teams with records of .500 or better: 41. Home games: 35.
New York Mets (67 games remaining)
Games against teams with records of .500 or better: 30. Home games: 35.

At hate "number of games against teams above .500"
What’s the point of using it? It has zero advantage over just looking at opponent win%. It treats a team 1 game over .500 and 20 games over as equal and it must be stopped.
Use this:
