Brewers sign Ryan Braun's brother, Steve Braun

He hit .276/.340/.380 as a senior as a middle infielder this year for Maryland, so he's not much of a prospect. Here's his Maryland profile.

Fun fun

Not handsome at all, unlike Ryan, but oh well.

I once got called for a gig

to play with the Madison Jazz Orchestra, backing Frank Stallone…I think the show was in Rockford.

Sadly, oh so sadly, I didn’t end up doing it.

Also, cheese.

Crazy

“Brew Crew Ball” (really battlekow, I’d assume) got a mention in Adam McCalvy’s article on this topic for breaking the Blake Billings’ deal.

Wow, that's pretty cool

Thanks for pointing that out.

McCalvy's always been cool, as far as I can tell

I’ve noted a lot of SBN sites seem to refer to “their” mlb.com writer the way we do Haudricourt. I’m glad Adam keeps his opinions out of things.

yup

McCalvy likes us.

Also, cheese.

So

this must mean he must at least glance in our direction occasionally, or at least someone who has his ear does. Pretty cool to know that some of the stuff on here (dixie’s pitchf/x analyses hopefully) might actually find it’s way into the organization in some form or another.

McCalvy, if you are indeed out there, nice to have you around and I hope you enjoy the site.

"He's been very, very impressive," Yost said. "I mean really impressive. I mean really, really impressive."

Was it a hit?
  • Yes. Hey you kids, get off my one-hitter!
  • No, and it should be changed. Even the Pirates fans, all twelve of them, thought so.
  • No, but it's too late to fix the glaring mistake now, unless...hey, we could pretend Sarah Palin gave up the hit!
