This is the kind of picture that will come up with the spinning newspaper headline over it during the sports (training) montage when they make a movie of the Brewers' 2008 season:

SOMETHING'S BREWING; CUBS' LEAD DOWN TO 3.5

regarding the CC story

Cleveland knows the Brewers want him and have plenty to buy him with. Buying at an auction you always have to be willing to lose. Melvin sounds like he knows that the other bidders don’t have what he has. It wouldn’t suprise me if it causes the Indians to accept his offer in the next day or two.

I assume he’s also taking his offer for CC and telling others, hey here are three or four quality position players who can contribute to a club including one of the premier bats in the minors. I would think that that could be tempting for a better SP.

ut oh

Ryan Church had to leave the Mets game with dizziness. Hopefully this doesn’t turn into a Corey Koskie situation for him.

no Helton and no Tulo

and the Rockies are still pounding the ball. I hope they cool off on the plane to Milwaukee.

I have a question

I am not a troll, I just need advice from Brewers fans. I am a Cubs fan with two little girls who are raging Cubs fans. We live in Milwaukee and want to go to at least one of the games at the end of this month. Last year we went and had a horrible time. We were booed, screamed at, and all and all belittled due to our Cub regalia and excitement over a Cubs win. There were fights and lots of pushing and shoving, and pretty much it blew as a baseball experience: especially at 500 for the whole family to go.

This year we looked into tickets in the NON ALCOHOLIC section 217. “The Family Section”. Does anyone know if this will help change our experience at all? I am hoping that it does, but at 115 a ticket on stub-hub, I thought I would ask those who knew better first.

Thanks. Here’s to a great second half North and South of the border.

I actually spent some time in that section yesterday

due to the sun in the seats we had. There are police hanging around in the back and no alcohol, so I would imagine it would be better.

Those ticket prices are crazy.

Thanks

I looked online at other games, and it seems that it is just these games that are so outrageously priced. When Cubdom come north, we all know the price goes up.

We are originally from Chicago, and tried to go a lot before we had kids. Once they arrived finding tickets for four, without dropping 800 for one game, was hard to do.

I do pitty your situation,

but i have been sucker punched walking into a Wisconsin bar for wearing a Brewers hat. It is sad these things happen, but all other baseball fans in the NL central get along with everyone else, except your teams and all the other teams fans.

That stinks

I’m sorry you and your family had a bad experience.

"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"

Featured Poll

Poll
Who is the Brewers' top prospect?
  • Brett Lawrie - Cana-DUH!
  • Mat Gamel - A great pure hitter who could potentially play a position of need.
  • Alcides Escobar - The Brewers sorely need his defensive wizardry and contact-hitting approach. He also solves the 3B hole by shifting J.J. over.
  • Jonathan Lucroy - The best catching prospect in the system by virtue of the fact that he can actually catch. His hitting numbers at Brevard are very good on the face of it, but even better after accounting for Space Coast Stadium.
  • Angel Salome - He's leading a Huntsville team that's loaded with prospects in all three slash stats, and he has the tools to be a good defensive catcher.
  • Jeremy Jeffress - The only real pitching prospect in a sea of hitters, Jeffress could potentially ease the pain of losing two aces by blossoming into one himself.
  • Carlos George - Hey, Derek Jeter can't play defense either.
