On the off chance that both the Brewers and Cubs have playoff spots wrapped up by the last game of the year (fingers crossed, no jinx, whatever, etc.), would the two teams just play backups as the starting line-up. Say DiFelice vs. some random Cubs guy?

Homefield advantage and momentum would be important enough to offset the marginal risk of playing position starters at the end of the season. I’m sure that backups would be sprinkled in to give some starters one off-day, but nothing extraordinary. The playoffs simply aren’t strenuous for non-pitchers because of all the off days.
