If Torres is really hurt
Hopefully Riske’s outing here moves him up in Ned’s mind as an option for a fill-in closer.

I know...
But I can hope after a win like that.

Speaking of crowd attire
What kind of jersey is that guy to the right of Gabe wearing? I like the giant MLB logo hat.

More picture fun
That camera on the left side of the picture looks ridiculously small compared to the guy right behind it.

I just like the little white-haired lady on the bottom right who looked stoned as hell

She's enjoying the view
And yet, she didn’t give into the temptation to touch Kapler’s bum?
She must’ve been stoned.

If I'm in the stands ther when Kapler makes that catch....
I got to say there is a good chance that I would want to touch his bum…..
But you know, in like a manly “good game” sort of way. Mostly.

If I'm in the stands (and a Dodgers fan)
I tackle him so he falls into the crowd.

Exactly....

Dude, if you were a Dodgers fan you might not even be there yet

Now I can't decide who should father my children
Riske, Hardy, or Phelps?
Ex-Brewer Tommy Phelps? Or ex-Brewer Travis? Oh…you must mean that swimmer dude. :)

Take your pick
Which would you rather your children have?
- Greasy hair
- Luck with the ladies
- Amazing fish-like abilities

Good question
We need a new BCB poll anyway.
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
Big win
I seems like they could have easily folded in that game and they kept coming back.

May 27 - June 1, 2003
4-2 at San Diego and Los Angeles. I think that’s the last one.

That is a long time ago. Go f’ing Brewers!

Even weirder
The Dodgers swept a 3-game series at Miller Park right before that trip, sinking the Crew’s record to 18-32.

Was that with the 4-HR Green game?

Hey TJ, what's the record for blown saves in a game by one team and by both teams combined?
I looked for that a couple years ago and couldn’t find it.
BCB's "very own marginally deserving all-star!"
At least four by both teams combined
The Reds had 3 and the Padres 1 in this game.
Obscure baseball records and more at my blog, Recondite Baseball.
The record for both teams combined is 5
Done first on June 30, 1996 in a 16-15 romp at Coors Field between the Dodgers and Rockies. These pitchers blew saves: Scott Radinsky, Todd Worrell, Darren Holmes, Curtis Leskanic, and Bruce Ruffin.
The record was equaled on July 17, 2000 in the second game of an interleague doubleheader between the A’s and Rockies. The following pitchers blew saves: Mike Magnante, Jeff Tam, Jason Isringhausen, Jose Jimenez, and Gabe White. The Rockies won 10-9 in ten innings.
The record for most blown saves in a game by one team is 4, done on September 28, 1995 at Wrigley Field. Houston came into Chicago one game out of the wild card with four games to play. Chicago was four games out with four to play. The ‘Stros managed to take the lead in the top of the sixth, seventh, eighth, tenth, and eleventh, but blew the lead every single time, finally losing the ballgame for good in the bottom of the 11th. The only reason they didn’t wind up with five blown saves was because Dave Veres was the pitcher of record when the Cubs re-tied the game in the tenth. The four Houston pitchers that did blow saves were Dean Hartgraves, Craig McMurtry, Greg Swindell, and Todd Jones.
The Astros lost another 10-inning contest the next day, thanks in part to another Dean Hartgraves blown save. Buoyed no doubt by two Rockies (the wild card holder) losses to go with their losses, the Astros fought back to win two wild one-run contests to finish their season. Unfortunately for Houston, the Rockies beat the Giants twice at home to win the wild card by that one game and become the fastest expansion team to reach the playoffs.
Ouch.
