Possible Hitter-Pitcher Prospect Trades With Tampa...
There's some discussion over at DRaysBay about trading some of the Rays' pitching prospect depth for some hitting prospects. Milwaukee seems like a great fit as trading partner.
Which of the Tampa pitchers do you like the most: Wade Davis, Jeff Niemann, Jake McGee, Jeremy Hellickson, Edwin Jackson, and Andy Sonnanstine? (I left off Price because I'm not sure Rays fans would trade him for the second coming of Sandy Koufax.) The Rays would be interested in guys like Angel Salome, Michael Brantley, and Matt Gamel.
So, what trades might both teams be happy with?

Go ahead and give them Matt Gamel.
As long as we can keep Mat Gamel. Gamel for Price straight up?

I'm a complete homer
…so I don’t recognize names outside of my own favorite organization, but my gut instinct is you can have Salome and give us a future number 3-4 starter in exchange, and our side would be extremely happy;)

Haha
That’s actually pretty right on. I love Hellickson (check out his K/BB numbers), and he looks like a #3-ish potential starter.
The Brewers are loaded for bear at SS, C, and OF, so for those of you who want to play in the trade sandbox, start with Hardy, Salome or Lucroy, and one or two from Brantley, Lorenzo Cain, Cole Gillespie, Caleb Gindl, etc.
I really hope some team overvalues Chris Errecart.

(Shhhh!)
(Don’t tell them about Errecart!)
Sonnastine seems intruiging but his average fastball velocity is around 87— not good. Jackson scares me a little bit, I don’t think his performance this year is capable of being reproduced- he’s walked fewer than usual in his career and his BABIP is down.
I’d vote for Hellickson if I could choose which one I like best, I guess. Salome’s probably the guy that would be your main target then.
And neck size to baby eating ratio.
