BCB's "very own marginally deserving all-star!"
I am confused(imagine that)
are we rooting for the Cards or the Cubs
I am leaning towards the Cubs(since we can TCB our selves) and you have to get into the playoffs to have a chance right.
A loss tonight puts them back to 5 games right.
If Loving CC is wrong I do not want to be right
You beat me to the thought
Cards would fall 4.5 back with a loss. Temporary dead heat with Philly.

I'm still not entirely clear
Who to cheer for. People don’t think the Cubs are really catchable, do they? St. Louis is the enemy here?
Cubs not catchable?
If the Cubs lost tonight, the Brewers would be 3.5 back, 4 in the loss column. If the Brewers went 4-2 in their 6 remaining games with the Cubs, that means they’d have to play 2 games better than Cubs in the remaining games to tie them. Unlikely? Sure, but not ridiculously so. It’s a lot more likely that the Brewers catch the Cubs than that the Astros win the Wild Card (roughly twice as likely according to BP).

I'm rooting against the Cardinals
I’m not rooting “for” anyone, but I’m rooting against all of our competitors for the WC.
YoGanna win with Gallardo on the mound.
In this situation, the best thing to root for is extra innings.
We've got uniforms and everything, it's really great!
Too bad they don't play in Texas
Natural disaster is what I root for.
Sat: George 2 (37, missed catch, fielding) Fri: George (35, throw) Tues: George (34, throw)
I am watching on Mosaic so I am getting the Cards crew
If Loving CC is wrong I do not want to be right
He's doing the Red Sox/Rays game on ESPN
I hate him. Worst announcer the game. Yes, worse than him (Joe Moran, Hawk, whoever you’re thinking of).

...cannnot..... resist..... urge!

Man, Houston is unstoppable
They’re really trying their Rockies impression, ahead again 2-0. Much easier schedule than St. Louis.
Felix Pie
Was he a September Call-up or was there an injury I didn’t hear about?
We've got uniforms and everything, it's really great!
4-1 Cubs already
I guess we’re going to be cheering against the Cards…

I'm rooting
for a nasty outbreak of Dutch Elm disease in Busch Stadium.

According to BP
The Brewers’ chance of winning the division is at 9.6, and the Cards’ chance of winning the WC is 8.6. Pretty close, and of course those are not gospel.

depends
How is the wild card round (NLDS) set up, anyway, is it best division winner vs the wild card, and the #2 vs #3 seeds? Or is there wiggle room for how the records of the 4 teams ends up?
In the first scenario, , the way things stand now, the brew crew would face the cubs in the first round of the playoffs.
Switch it around (Brewers first, best record in NL overall), at least they’d have home field, not that it helped the last time the Cubs were in Milwaukee….
Wild card never plays the winner of their division in the first round

But since it seems more likely that the Cubs continue to tank than the Cardinals starting a rampage, I’d be willing to take the 0.5 loss in WC, 0.5 gain in the division.
Ryan Braun: He loves it.
I can't root for the Cubs
What I want is for both of them to lose and I can’t have my way so whatever.
listening to WGN
Lilly gets some hearty boos. I wonder if the slide was dirty at all or something that would piss off LaRussa.
Maybe the choice of thread pic can be prescient.
what's the name of the guy who works with Santo?
He’s mentioned that the Brewers won about a dozen times.
Wow
Washington came back from down 7-1 to tie the Mets. 7-7 in the 7th now.

Lucky they've got those good matchup guys

Hey, we won!
It’s amazing what the boys (i.e., Brauny) can do when I’m not in class.

"Pujols just unloaded." - Bob Uecker
It was a nail biter. Brauny didn’t do great again. Hard to tell if the problem is too much canoodling or too little.
He was out pretty late last night
My bad

"out" late?
don’t you mean in? or did you deny him entry?

Wouldn't you like to know?
I have (the funnest) ways of motivating people.

Tejada with a grand slam
I don’t see the Pirates coming back from this one, so the Astros keep on keepin’ on.
Rays vs. Sox
Are American League games always this slow?
We've got uniforms and everything, it's really great!
Weird
Maybe I missed something, but in the Sox/Rays game in the bottom of the ninth there were runners on 1st and second with 2 outs. The Sox dude hits to the third baseman, who instead of going for the force out at third, throws to first (and gets the out via bad umping). Unless the guy on second had already passed him, why not go for the out at third?

For some reason, I can’t reply.
No, AL games are not always that slow. Red Sox games on ESPN, on the other hand, are. Also, isn’t Sonnanstine one of those pokey pitchers?
And, yes, I’d like to have Balfour back pls. Of course, if Balfour was in that little situation tonight with the Brewers, 2 runs would have scored and the Sox would have won.
On one of the Red Sox's qualifications for MVP
He has small hands (or at least smaller than David Ortiz?)

How close was Josh Phelps' fly ball for the last out?
Yahoo says it was “deep” but that’s often meaningless.

Holy cow
With yesterday’s loss, St. Louis fell into 4th place in the NL Central. Forget the Cardinals, it’s the Astros we now have to worry about. The Stros are 4 games back, the Cards, 4.5.
Also…did you know that Julio Franco was, for a brief moment in time, a Brewer? Back in 1937…I mean, 1997. I had no idea.

I remember
and he was already like 40 or close to it. He still amazes me. I saw a game a couple years ago at RFK (crappy stadium for a crappy team). The highlight was seeing this 48 year old Met hit a HR!
