seriously

it’s like he’s writing something more important… like a GMAT book, or an article for the many many publications he’s in. We get what’s left (;

I just sit back and root for the taser

He's not writing

But I’m sure he’s otherwise occupied…

heh

Hey Jeff, will project-a-tron be back at all this season? Feels like it’s time for us to know how badly behind projection the team is playing.

The project-a-tron!

The image WAS there, for a little bit at least.

not sure.

maybe for the playoffs. i had a lot more work i wanted to do to improve it, but it isn’t very high on the list.

Also, cheese.

by Jeff Sackmann on Sep 13, 2008 6:08 AM CDT up reply actions

ok, thanks.

I wonder if, for a playoff series, project-a-tron ever comes up with: “you have to assume sweep”. The suspense is killing me.

The Brewers did not lose tonight!

Hooray!

Sat: George 2 (37, missed catch, fielding) Fri: George (35, throw) Tues: George (34, throw)

I heard

that Yost is still going to let Kendall bat tonight around 10 Eastern. No rain delay is going to get in his way!

ESPN delayed as well

“Bonus coverage” can be fun, but I wonder if there is no other game to watch other than Royals and the Indians.

If there really is no game...

… I hope they skip Soup and let CC pitch on his 5 days. I think it’s more important at this point for him to start against the Phillies than the Cubs. A win may be a win, but a Phillies loss is a bigger deal than a Cubs loss at this point.

I have an unreasonable dislike of Bill Hall.

by Ted Simmons Speed Camp on Sep 12, 2008 7:01 PM CDT reply actions

No thoughts on skipping Parra?

I know Soup isn’t have a great year, but Manny could probably stand to have an extra few days rest.

by SgtClueLs on Sep 12, 2008 7:11 PM CDT up reply actions

I have these thoughts.

You get to knock a few innings of the total, Soup’s been pitching better than him in the past few starts (note: I do not think Jeff Suppan is better than Manny Parra). And I’d trust him for a few innings out of the bullpen in a tough situation.

Sat: George 2 (37, missed catch, fielding) Fri: George (35, throw) Tues: George (34, throw)

by Jordan M on Sep 12, 2008 7:26 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, I guess that makes some sense.

But I don’t have to like it.

I have an unreasonable dislike of Bill Hall.

by Ted Simmons Speed Camp on Sep 12, 2008 8:30 PM CDT up reply actions

Suppan/Parra?

I think it they are sticking with Parra mainly because of the match up against the Phils big lefty bats (Utley/Howard). I agree that Suppan has been pitching better as of late though – and he does have the experience and history of pitching well down the stretch. Tough decision.

Doubleheader on Sunday

Says the official site:

The Phillies’ front office preferred that the makeup game be scheduled for Monday, an off-day for both teams. That would have offered ace Brett Myers an opportunity to pitch on regular rest. Instead, he will come back on short rest to pitch one of Sunday’s games.

“We want to play Sunday,” said Brewers manager infielder Craig Counsell, a member of the players union executive board. “We want to keep that off-day [Monday]. … People might not understand this, but there’s value in them.”

The Brewers got to make the call because playing on Monday would’ve meant more than 20 games in a row, which requires player association approval.

I wonder how the TV contract with FSN works out

We don’t get to watch tonight and probably won’t see the make up game.

by ol Pete on Sep 12, 2008 8:00 PM CDT up reply actions

so

if Moyer can go on 3 days rest, can CC. The Wednesday game was during the day and he could pitch the nightcap on Sunday.

by molitorfan on Sep 12, 2008 8:39 PM CDT up reply actions

excellent

therefore, it won’t happen

Yost is conjuring an even more better idea. (Somebody, save us.)

by heybatterbatter on Sep 13, 2008 10:00 AM CDT up reply actions

I dunno

if CC can get people out pitching underhanded.

"People might not understand this."

Now Counsell is telling us we have no concept?

He is manager material.

Wait, what?
I am extraordinarily anti-Suppan. And Gagne. I am anti-gagne, too.

Don't ask why but

I’m watching some of the replay of a late September 2007 game on FSN now. BA mentions that the Brewers had hit 43 home runs to date. I’d settle for 43 doubles for the remainder of the month now….

by heybatterbatter on Sep 12, 2008 8:08 PM CDT reply actions

On the plus side

at least we didn’t lose tonight

I just sit back and root for the taser
