Summer in the minors proves to be a real eye-opener for Odorizzi
This is a great article about just how crazy the transition from high school kid to pro baseball player is:
"'I gave up my first home run in about three years on an inside fastball that almost nobody could hit in high school,' he said. 'He turned on it and hit it about 400 feet.'
...
But while the majority of his friends are still in high school or away at college, Odorizzi has plenty of money --thanks to his $1.06 million signing bonus -- and waiting to continue his baseball job again.
'Now I'm just sitting at home," he said, "and it seems kind of weird.'"

Pretty sure no one will ever see this given today's news, but...
Odorizzi was named the 7th-best AZL prospect by BA; Seth Lintz was 15th.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Sat: George 2 (37, missed catch, fielding) Fri: George (35, throw) Tues: George (34, throw)
Colbyjack at Brewerfan asked a question about Scarpetta and others in the chat:
Q: Did Cody Scarpetta just miss the cut due to innings pitched? Any thoughts on some of the more high ceiling AZ Brewers such as Shawn Zarraga, Luis Guerrero, Blake Billings, Hitaniel Arias and Jose Garcia?A: Scarpetta fell short of innings and I never did get to see him pitch, but check out those K/9 totals at both levels! Of the other Brewers you mention, the one that drew the most comments was Jose Garcia. The AZL staff at the Brewers complex like this 17-year-old. He’s got a solid body and power potential, but he’s still very raw. Arias is even more unrefined. Good body, some power potential, but many years away. I got some favorable comments about Guerrero and Billings, but really nothing on Zarraga.
