I know how this is going to sound (trolly)
But i just saw an interview with Sveum where he blamed the wind for the loss.
Can I get your thoughts on that? Is that something you guys are going to get behind? Cause the Cubs were able to muscle a couple over the wall today.
I am doing this post only as a barometer. This post really isn't here to start a fight. I would like your honest opinion of your manager's take on the game.

Yawn.

Wow.
As a moderator, and somewhat leader of this site, its fairly pathetic the way you immediately attack a poster like this.
I get that the Brewers arent playing up to the level desired by the team, the fans, or specifically you. I get that losing tough ball games suck. I even get that it sucks having a fan of another team come onto your site and talk about things, especially when that fan of that team will more than likely be watching his team in the playoff and you’re uncertain about your team’s future.
I get it.
But show some class.
Yes, I’m a Cubs fan, but I see no problem with this post. If the new manager DID blame a loss on the wind (which I cant say that I heard) then perhaps the issue you should take up is that the new manager of a team in playoff contention with two weeks left in the season refused to accept that his team lost because of various reasons that can be attributed to poor defense, poor base coaching in a critical situation, and even poor managing from a manager with little major league managerial experience.
If that manager blamed the loss on the wind, shame on him. He can blame it on a list of things, a list that SHOULD be topped with the fact that a manager was fired after he got his team back to back winning seasons and was managing a team that was in a realistic position to make the playoffs. The Brewers fired a good manager, promoted a base coach, and as a result everyone shifted roles and it cost the Brewers a close game. If Yost is still managing the Brewers, I think they beat the Cubs, and like I said, I’m a Cubs fan.
Dont jump on someone asking what a team’s fans felt about its new manager skirting the blame for a loss. Jump on the Brewers management that more than likely caused the Brewers to lose a vital game. Jump on the Brewers management that pulled the plug on something that was fairly successful through 150 games. Jump on Ryan Braun for missing a fairly routine fly ball and the third base coach for sending a runner home with no outs and a four run lead.
Jump on someone that is at fault, not a fan of an opposing team, because it makes you look very childish. I’ve checked this site various times throughout the year and I can honestly say that I respect Brewers fan. I dont, on the other hand, respect people who think that sour grapes is an excuse to be immature.
One thing you learned as a Cubs fan: when you bought you ticket, you could bank on seeing the bottom of the ninth.

Oh, and another thing.
Respond as you’d like, I’m not here to get into a war of the words. I simply felt that your lack of respect for someone else’s opinion was worth a comment. If you choose not to respect my opinion, fine. Say what you’d like. Be angry. Jump on me. I honestly dont care. I just felt like speaking my mind.
…but like I said, dont expect a response or some sort of message board argument. Baseball, after all, is just a game.

Be gone!
Jeff and the other moderators put a lot of work into making this site an interesting place to discuss the Brewers, and it’s entirely his prerogative to be curt with what is obviously a troll (you know, seeing as it’s his site and all). If you have a problem with it feel free to leave, I’m sure he won’t miss you (and I know I won’t).

Apparently Cub fans don't even like talking to Cub fans...

Say what you want about Cubs fans...
…but some of us simply love the game. I love the grass. Curveballs. 3-2 counts. Double plays and runners in scoring position.
As a Cubs fan I am not limited to a love of simply the Cubs. I believe I am allowed to love the game, as a whole, and discuss it, as a whole. While I might not personally go to another team’s site, after a series with that team that just so happens to be a team under quite a bit of stress after a series with my favorite team, I did appreciate the post and I felt it was a decent one for discussion. If this were July, I’d imagine most of you would have responded a bit more rationally.
Love the game first, your team second, and baseball is a much more enjoyable sport.

I didn't get to watch the game
I only heard yesterday’s game on the radio, but Ueck and Jim Powell certainly made it sound like the wind changed the complexion of the game a little bit, keeping some balls in the ballpark. For a Brewer team that relies heavily on the long ball, I can see making a case that the conditions put them at a disadvantage.
With that said, the wind also took a ball or two away from the Cubs, including one ball hit off of Eric Gagne that I remember specifically.
Hence my decision to call it "screwing around" as opposed to "in-depth study."

Also
I demand that everyone tell me what they think about the Yost firing. How did affect the team? Give me details. NOW
How about Salmon Torres bold prediction give me all your thoughts on that. I have a right to know. Why you ask? Simply because.
And don’t give me a negative response either, if I wanted to be mean well…lets just say YOU WOULDNT WANT THAT!!!

You dont care?
You really dont care enough to hear other people’s opinions?
Sad. No other comment is needed.

I just want to start an honest discussion on the other BCB
After the most deflating loss of the season (after getting swept by the Dogdgers in the playoffs this year) and say… Pinella didn’t blame it on a curse, how did that make you feel?
Do you agree? Are you able to get behind that reasoning? Because the White Sox and Boston found a way to win after so many years of not… but it is only meant to serve as a baramoter of how you feel, not start a fight.
I am sure a lot of happy Cub fans would see that I told them I was not a troll and ignore the fact of everything written in the post.
The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws.

JJ played awful.
Him being thrown out can be blamed on the base coach. But why the hell was he hitting the ball to right field. JJ hasn’t hit the ball to right field since Bernie Brewer lost his mug. And he was absolutely crushing the ball. Why, on a day when the only way you can hit a homer is to pull it to left, does the biggest pull hitter we have try to push the ball?.. twice in a row.

You know what the best part of all these happy Cubs Trolls is?
Is how much fun we will have with them after the Cubs fail in the Playoffs and we know they will. I actually hope they make it to the World Series just to lose.
That will be a special kind of pain.
Yes the Crew will most likely not make the playoffs this year such is life but put that up with the past 100 years of history the Cubs have and it is a drop in the bucket.
Cubs fans when you win something then you get to act like Yankee or Cards fans until them remember the Marlins have 2 more WS championships than you all do(in the past 100 years)
Oh and Wrigley Field is a dump even the Cubs players know that.
Enjoy your brief moment of joy because we all know a long winter of depression is on its way to the North Side because like the Sun coming up in the East and Water being wet somethings never change.
When it is all said and done the Cubs will fail :)

See I dont get this
When in doubt.. start hating on another team? Is that how you do it… I mean us Cubs fans usually get pissed at our own team and organization when we are fallin and beaten and done with the playoff chase, not go on and on about something that has no affect on any outcome… THE PAST. The past is the past, it is 2008 and if we fail… well welcome to Cub world, we understand that has been the way it is, it is not clever or original to point that out over and over again when your own team fell apart. And what this Cubs fan in this post is trying to do is to get insight, get another spin on what has gone down in a game or what not… come on man, we are not trolling… i read this site alot, along with others just to get insight on BASEBALL and teams that have an effect on the team I cheer on THE CUBS (1)

Well... Chris...
…here’s my honest question to you… If the Brewers dont make the playoffs (which I am not saying they wont, I actually would like the NL Central to have two teams in) and the Cubs lose in the playoffs, do you truly feel better?
If so, I feel sorry for you. When the Cubs fall short, I take no joy in watching another team lose. That team, after all, has a fan base that is really no different than yours. Each will have obnoxious fans and knowledgeable fans… They are people, just like you and I, and if you take joy in other people’s pain… wow.
If your team doesnt make it, just enjoy the game. As a Cubs fan, I’ve obviously never seen my team win a World Series, but it doesnt stop me from enjoying the playoffs. Enjoy the game rather than rejoicing in hatred for someone else.

work email
This post reminds me of an email a co-worker (Cubs fan) sent me this week:
“Can I ask you a question about CC? When was the last time he won a big game? His team is 0-2 when he pitches vs the Cubs this year and he had a horrendous post season last year. If the Brewers end up not making the playoffs how does this end up as a good trade for Milwaukee?”
Then he was confused when I asked why I had a pissy response to him, mainly no, it wasn’t a bad trade.
