Got back a lil while ago

Holy crap, that was awesome. McClung was great and that place erupted after Rickie hit that homer. Pure awesomeness.

by kantwistaye on Sep 26, 2008 11:54 PM CDT reply actions

Yeah. Rickie is all sorts of incredible.

by HRF on Sep 26, 2008 11:57 PM CDT up reply actions

Probably should’ve clarified that the game was pure awesomeness. That said, I wouldn’t mind seeing some more Rickie. He’s been playing well lately.

Yay!

For the latest news on an ex-Brewer, check out the FanShots…will anyone remember a few years from now that he had a 2.46 ERA WHIP for the 2008 Brewers?

Seth McClung = Studly McStud

So huge not only for the game but the team as well, now the bullpen is as fresh as possible.

9/26/07

Yes, this is the 1st anniversary of the infamous Pujols Incident.

I think McClung’s performance on 9/26/08 made up for that tenfold.

McLarge

Great managing from Sveum to keep him out there like that.

I am pro-Rodgers

Too bad they couldn't push another run across against Dempster

If he’d given up two earned runs in five innings, his season ERA would’ve been an even 3.00.

If Sheets can come up as clutch as McClung and Gallardo have I think we might be able to pull it off

Whew...just got back

What a great time that was…

Astros last night

Darrin Erstad’s walk off HR was served up by none other that Julian Tavarez. Jorge Campillo went only 3 innings and gave up 4 earned. I wonder if he wasn’t sharp, was worn down or if the Astros don’t suffer the same allergy to junk that the Brewers do.

Ugh.

Why do 4 year olds always wake up at 5 the morning after you decided to have a few drinks?

I’m going to go shave my tongue.

Yeah, he’s my son.

I think I’m done posting here for a while.

At the risk of making things worse, let me clarify:

I am a parent. I have an awesome 4 year old boy (bats left, throws right). My wife and I trade off Saturday mornings as our one opportunity to sleep in per week, and this morning was my day to get up with my son. Despite knowing this, I had a few of my colleagues/friends over to grill out and watch the Brewers, and I ended up consuming a great deal more beer than I had originally planned. My wife pointed out to me repeatedly that I was getting up with the boy this morning no matter how many I had. Sure enough, my son decided that 5AM was wake up time this morning, and I found myself lobbing pitches to him in the backyard by 7, despite feeling more or less like I’d been run over by a truck.

Believe it or not, I speak and write for a living. The above post is evidence that it’s a good thing I’m rarely hung over when I do so.

I have an unreasonable dislike of Bill Hall.

If Sidney Ponson is still around when your son gets drafted...

sounds like he’ll have some good experience to draw upon.

Also, cheese.

haha

I’m just imagining playing catch at 7 AM while hungover.

On the plus side, we could start calling you “Sir.”

After a dubious start

that’s actually a pretty sweet story.

MLB.TV question

I am thinking of buying the end-of-season mlb.tv subscription ($7.95 for the final weekend). I am doing this because my Extra Innings doesn’t show any of the FOX 2:55 games, and I am in the Minnesota market so they are showing the Twins game instead of the Brewers this afternoon.

Does the mlb.tv package let you watch all of the featured FOX games, or is it like Extra Innings where you can’t watch any of them? Thanks.

by oconnobe on Sep 27, 2008 7:55 AM CDT reply actions

You will NOT get to see the game on Saturday if Fox isn't showing it in your area

Fox blacks out any other game going on and you will not get to see it on MLB.TV. You will be able to listen to Bob and Jim over the internet however.

Visit my baseball blog ...or else!

by dixieflatline on Sep 27, 2008 8:01 AM CDT up reply actions

Thanks.

Dang … I guess I’ll have to decide if it is worth getting to see the noon Mets game.

by oconnobe on Sep 27, 2008 8:07 AM CDT up reply actions

Anyone know

a sports bar in Minnesota (or Western WI) that would carry the Brewers on Fox? I would think most would be showing the Twins game (in addition to college football). Molitorfan???

by oconnobe on Sep 27, 2008 9:11 AM CDT up reply actions

Usually they’ll carry the main game on most TVs and then carry other games on a set or two. Let your fingers do the walking.

by ol Pete on Sep 27, 2008 10:01 AM CDT up reply actions

You're SOL for sports bars

I know of a Brewers bar in Hudson (they keep advertising on WEVR during Brewers games) but the closest Wisconsin FOX affiliate is in Chippewa Falls—if you’re in the Hudson area, you’re getting KMSP 9, sorry.

Head to Eau Claire for the day?

by morineko on Sep 27, 2008 1:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah

That’s what I thought. I think I’ll settle for the radio feed while I watch the Mets and the Badgers. Thanks, though.

by oconnobe on Sep 27, 2008 1:41 PM CDT up reply actions

I'm in the East metro,

so WEVR comes in loud and clear!

see fanshots

baseballchannel.tv is free today
I’m assuming that’s similar to mlb.tv in everything except name and $

don’t know if we can pick our game or not

Quote from McClung on the 9th inning mound conversation with Sveum:

From the JS blogs:

“He asked me how I felt,” said McClung. “I said, ‘Fine. Now if you get out of my way, I can do my job. I don’t know if he heard it but I know I definitely said it.”

I have an unreasonable dislike of Bill Hall.

I don't care if he doesn't record another out in his career...

… I need a McClung jersey.

Awesome!

We need more klingons on the team!

by Oakland Brewer Fan on Sep 27, 2008 11:06 AM CDT up reply actions

From the AP:
Rickie Weeks showed resiliency after being sent to the bench. Seth McClung came out of the bullpen and showed some grit of his own.

I think they confused McClung with Kendall.

Ryan Braun: He loves it.
