Go forth and conquer, Brew Crew. We are counting on you to not only get the NL Wild Card to the World Series, but have them WIN it this time. (We failed at that).

There was no Brewers TV contract and no cable TV at my house even if they had a contract. I spent most of the summer carrying an honest to goodness transister radio around with me. It had a leather carrying case with a loop on it so you could hook it to your belt, which I often did. I went through batteries like crazy, much to my parents chagrin. I remember listening to games, in my room, or in my old fort in the woods behind my house, and late in the year, on the bus riding home from school.

Playoff Roster
Any idea when the Crew will announce their 25 man postseason roster? Will be interesting to see if Sheets makes the list.
The Bambi's Bombers won because they played the game like kids! Let's do that again!!!
They have a pool of players
and they choose 25 for each series. So they could not pick Sheets and if he feels better and they beat the Phils, he could be activated for the NLCS.
The pool is the 25-man roster on August 31st plus anyone on the DL at that point. Anyone on the 60-day DL can be replaced by a player who was on the 40-man August 31st, so no Coffey or Lamb for sure.
Nyx was on the roster on the 31st, so I don’t know how that works out. I think Stetter will be on the postseason roster, and he would be for Capuano. If Kapler or Branyan aren’t going to go, they could be transferred to the 60-day to add another spot.
Sat: George 2 (37, missed catch, fielding) Fri: George (35, throw) Tues: George (34, throw)
Riske should be on the 60-day DL
Hey, he just had surgery, there is no way in heck he’ll be ready for the postseason.
Good point
they have plenty of room if they want to put Stetter, J-Dill, Nelson, DiFelice, or whoever on the postseason roster.

1. Chicago Cubs. We’re not ready to go with the “they win the World Series in the 100th year” business, but the lineup is starting to scare us a little.
2. Milwaukee Brewers. These guys reek of slow starters, followed by the firing of Ned Yost, followed by a crazy run to the wild card.
3. Houston Astros. This franchise is absolutely dead in two years. Their last gasp will push them into third place. Congrats, guys.
4. St. Louis Cardinals. The lineup should surprise — watch Brian Barton, kids — but man, is that really Todd Wellemeyer in the rotation? Heavens.
5. Cincinnati Reds. No longer will these guys sucker us in. It’ll be fun to see who Griffey goes to, though.
6. Pittsburgh Pirates: Yes, yes, the Pirates are still around. Nice stadium too.

Weeping for joy
I couldn’t watch the game or listen to it because I had to work. So instead I kept texting milwaukee brewers and florida marlins to Google on the Go for updates. The damn system stalled 4-2 Florida in the top of the ninth (never got that final text back).
When we won, my parents called and a good friend and Mets fan texted me “congrats.” I asked the score of their game, and he wrote back “I knew the Mets would lose once they went to the bullpen.” (We talked after the games were actually over….he’s root for us in the playoffs)
Then, I got home and read the game thread and nearly weeped when I got to Braun’s homer. This is the greatest thing I can remember!!!!!!!

Congratulations, guys
I’ll be rooting for the Brewers to meet the Rays in the WS. Maybe next year both NY teams and the Cuns can miss the playoffs and all will be right with the world.

Cuns?
n=b, or missing a t?

Someone on Red Reporter just made a typo once
But everyone agreed it was the most appropriate name.

If the Brewers make the World Series, does that mean Rivera will be our Coach in 20 years?
We've got uniforms and everything, it's really great!

TEH AWESOME
Perfect timing TBS! Don’t even have to skip school. Awesome. This should be fantastic. The 5 PM start would be weird to go to, not that I would complain. :)
And neck size to baby eating ratio.

The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws.

Apparently Gammons 'announced' on ESPN that the PTBNL was Brantley
Agent Josh says it hasn’t been released, but doesn’t deny it. It would make sense. Obviously it sucks to lose him, but I’d rather lose him than Green

Yeah
I think we need a really 3B/2B more than another outfielder

Did anyone order the NL Wild card shirt?
How long is the estimated shipping?

Not sure about the Brewers one
But the Mets 2008 NL Wild Card Champions apparel should be in Ghana by November.

Piling on the Mets is a little mean...
But I still rec’d that, because it’s damn funny.
I don't specifically articulate my motives, because that wouldn't travel as well as a boo does.

Awesome
In the meantime, you can still buy the shirts online.

Which place will NLDS tix be more expensive from scalpers
Philly or Milwaukee? There’s more rich folk in PA, but you’ve gotta figure the Brew demand is higher …
Tararreling our way to the finish line.
I'm in PA
I’m scouring Craig’s list. It looks like bad tickets will be $90 min for the NLDS maybe more once they get some offers.

Sabathia and Salome! Angel, couldn’t have done it without you!
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
in all seriousness...
looking at all the celebration pictures, it looks like the rookies are solidly part of the clubhouse—escobar is all over the place, for one, and then this. seems like a good thing, if it means anything at all.
Also, cheese.

I’m an Astros fan, and mostly-lurker, sometime-poster at Crawfish Boxes. Good luck in the post-season—here’s hoping our late April 2009 series against you guys is billed as “vs. the World Champion Brewers”!
