Yep
It should be updated in the standings soon.

Guy might have trouble hitting
Not only is his bat curved, but he also has his eyes (if they exist) covered.
Obscure baseball records and more at my blog, Recondite Baseball.
You just think his bat's curved
It’s actually an optical illusion, due to his amazing bat speed.
Also, his bat uses echolocation, so he doesn’t need eyes.
BCB's "very own marginally deserving all-star!"
They took the lead in the 8th, 4-1
An error by Lake County third baseman Karexon Sanchez extended the inning.

Seems to be from the same naming school as Allixon Cequea

Wooten slams the door for the Power
They face Augusta in a best-of-five series starting on Monday.

Mets Phils rained out again
Wasn’t there a team last year that didn’t have to play a game because it wouldn’t affect the tsandings? Do I have that right?
I don't know about last year
But the Brewers only had to play 161 in 2004 because of a rainout against the slightly less worse Pirates.

"slightly less worse"
I can make sense, really.

2:07 minute game
What was the fastest baseball game in Major League Baseball?
Back on September 28, 1919 the New York Giants took on the Philadelphia Phillies in Philadelphia, defeating them 6 – 1 quite quickly.
While the score is not that amazing, the time it took to play the full nine innings was, a mere 51 minutes, the fastest, or shortest baseball game in the history of Major League Baseball.
Didn't see the game on TV
For Cerveceros Day, did the Padres just wear their regular uniform?
Coffee is for closers
Ben
Not only did he get a complete game shutout, he also set a career high for wins.

AND he came up with an unbeatable new hitting strategy

Imagine how good he would be if he was a winner :)
I wonder how many times I’ve been told that Ben Sheets would never win more than 12 games.
Sat: George 2 (37, missed catch, fielding) Fri: George (35, throw) Tues: George (34, throw)
I mentioned the possibility only a few short weeks ago
and when he exited last game, I was seriously worried about it

He was only responsible for one runner reaching in the 8th

still hoping for a Cincinnati comeback
I realize the chances are incredibly slim, but it would lead to every single Cubs fan’s head exploding simultaneously (not to mention a total collapse in September), so it’s worth dreaming about
Is the AZL team still there?
… or just a bunch of random minor leaguers that get extra instruction? If George is on his team, Yovani won’t have to worry about giving up any earned runs.
Sat: George 2 (37, missed catch, fielding) Fri: George (35, throw) Tues: George (34, throw)
somehow
I don’t think this is going to make the fine people of WV forget a certain football game from earlier today
Somehow I think they're probably more focused on the Mountaineers getting housed by East Carolina

not to be a downer
but did anybody notice that all 5 of Ben’s complete games have come against the dregs of the NL? SF, Pit, Atl, Was, SD
It's easier to shut down bad teams

Awesome quote from Yost about Gagne
“[The home runs allowed] are more glaring because they’re in one-run games.”
If only there were a way to control what type of games Gagne pitched in…

Yeah.
Right now, Yost asks Gagne in the clubhouse before the game…
Ned: “So, you pitching today Eric?”
Gagne: “Oui.”
Ned: “God Dammit.”

Sat: George 2 (37, missed catch, fielding) Fri: George (35, throw) Tues: George (34, throw)
I'm kinda excited about that guy
Not very often that a guy is groomed as a reliever with his velocity, or lack therof- not that it’s a bad thing, I like it. Given his ability to pitch more than one inning and pitch very often, plus his big-game experience at NC, he could be an interesting piece in a major league pen in a year or two if his offspeed stuff is able to fool guys up here.
Sat: George 2 (37, missed catch, fielding) Fri: George (35, throw) Tues: George (34, throw)
I think Aaron Cook threw like a 75-pitch shutout a year or two ago
Sat: George 2 (37, missed catch, fielding) Fri: George (35, throw) Tues: George (34, throw)
79 pitches
July 1 this year. In 2005, Carlos Silva gave up one run (on a Damian Miller HR, no less) in a 74-pitch complete game against the Brewers
