The Nats have an interest in Prince. Looking at their system, there's not a lot of decent arms (maybe Detwiler), but geez... what would it take for us to send them Prince? Thoughts?

Their system and a few pieces from someone else.

The farm in Washington isn’t nearly as deep in players as many believe. And as Hyatt said, pitching is not their strong suit.

If we want anything, we should look at Texas, Seattle, SF, and Arizona. I’d like to say Cincy, but I really don’t want to face prince 20 times per year.

Honestly Arizona doesn’t really need him, but they have enough pitching depth to look really good. But I’d like to get a shot at mad max.

And the Rangers, M’s and Giants all have a decent use for him at the current time, and enough pitching in the minors or almost if not major league ready. And I’m sure Jack would give us a fair deal with good pitching to get prince.

Or even

How about Tampa? They could use a DH, and it would piss off the Yankees to no end. Plus they have a ton of young pitching worth having.

I just sit back and root for the taser

i like Tampa

3 years of Prince could be the final piece to the puzzle there. that’d be one hell of a line-up. they’ve shown a willingness to trade young pitching with the Jackson-Joyce trade.

Start with Ryan Zimmerman, work from there.

Assuming they undervalue him.

interesting.

i hadn’t even considered Zimmerman. if we somehow had an infield of Gamel, Hardy, Escobar, and Zimmerman going into 2010, I’d be happy about that. that would be a hell of a defensive IF with a potential for 80+ HR.

i’m not sure that the Nationals would trade Zimm, though. MLBTR had a post that said they might look to move Lastings Milledge soon. i’d probably want more than Milledge for Prince at this point, but that could be an interesting starting point, too. i’m a little nervous about CF going forward, and that could be a solution.

of course, in the end, i think we need to get pitching in return for Prince. i’d be fine trying Rickie in CF.
