Hardy signs a one-year deal
Per TH:
"The Brewers haven't officially announced it yet but the Associated Press is reporting that shortstop J.J. Hardy has signed a $4.65 million deal for 2009, avoiding salary arbitration."

This is how small teams compete/Salary caps tradeoff would be bad
Hardy was worth an average of $21 mil in each of the last two years.
I wonder how long it will take until teams and arbitrators start understanding value. I bet Fielder gets quite a bit more, though he’s not as good of a player and is only in his first year of arb.
Scored three times and detonated an indisputable in four visits to the batting box.
Prince
will bring all of the trimmings to spring training- mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie…..
September 15: Not a bad little Monday
Bill E Hall’s Mother’s Day Miracle (2006) was on a couple of weeks ago – Prince has ballooned up like a corpse in the Arizona desert compared to just a couple of years ago.

What a steal
I’m glad teams (and apparently JJ) don’t understand actual value. You have to love that a guy who was worth almost 6 wins last year gets less than 5, and a slow, bad defensive player who plays a much less premium position is going to get between 6 and 8.
Hopefully that same lack of understanding is applied to when we trade Prince.
I’m less hopeful, seeing as how Dunn, Abreu, et al have yet to find homes and the ones that have (Burrell, Ibanez) aren’t getting the deals they wanted. And seeing as how Ibanez’s signing is universally panned, I’m thinking teams have finally wised up.
