Adam Dunn

I have been a fan of this guy for awhile now. His OBP and power numbers are enormous. He is also a much needed left-handed bat. 5 million per year might be a stretch, but i would absolutely love having this guy for say, 8 million per year. The problem is where would we play him? Guess it depends on the return we could get for Hart, though i think we will be selling him real low at this point. (or trading Cameron if Harts return is deemed unsuffice) Tho trading Cameron would be the salary-savvy thing to do.
But this gets me thinking; what does everyone else think about adding a left-handed bat that will mash 40 bombs, get on base nearly 4 out of 10 times, and outweigh princey all at the same time? Dunn, Braun, and Fielder = geeez look-out........

You can always
move Hart back to third base…

Your Sarcasm-dar is malfunctioning
beep………beep….beep..beep..beepbeepbeepbeep
As I mentioned here, an outfield of Braun, Hart, and Dunn left to right is about 8 runs worse than an outfield of Braun, Cameron, and Hart. Hart will probably provide about the exact same production as Dunn next year, for cheaper, and we already have him.
If you can find a way to neutralize Dunn’s defense, I’d be all for signing him. We already have a first basemen, though, and no one will trade for him with Dunn on the market.
Defense does matter. I know 40 HR zOMGs!!! but Dunn and Hart are pretty similar in overall production.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Dunn, but -15 defense in right makes all 12 pitchers worse.
Scored three times and detonated an indisputable in four visits to the batting box.

The defensive projections are sort of irritating
since they don’t break out RF and LF. It seems as if LF is easier to play than is RF.
Could Ryan Braun play RF? I think he could…

Let me clarify
If we could trade Hart for pitching, move Braun to RF, put Dunn in LF, we could solve the LH bat problem and the SP problem.
Alas, it won’t happen. But its interesting to think about.

Damn, jihad.
Why do you have to ruin a perfectly good fantasy with logic and intelligence? The only move that could possibly justify signing Dunn is a trade of Fielder (assuming you could get value for him, which you probably can’t, and assuming that Dunn’s first base defense isn’t any worse than Fielder’s, which it probably is.)
I have an unreasonable dislike of Bill Hall.

No one would...
… trade for Fielder until Dunn is off the market. Why trade young pitching for Fielder when you can sign Dunn for nothing?

Didn't I suggest this a while ago.
