Community Prospect Rankings: How far do we go?
So the balloting for Community Prospect #8 will be posted in a few moments, but before we get there I wanted to get your opinion on the project.
We've already rated seven Brewer prospects, and I'm prepared to rate many more, perhaps as many as 50. However, once we get farther down the list of prospects, more and more of our readers won't know anything about any of the guys listed, and furthermore, once you get past around 20, there's really only a fraction of the market that cares enough to vote.
In the end, though, they're your community rankings, so I ask you: How many prospects should we rank?

The current battlekow list goes to 30, so that was my vote
I am willing to compormise. We can go to 50 if you let me vote for Carlos George. :)
If we do go down to 30 or so, I’m sure some of us can provide some information about each of the prospects beyond the slash stat line and the rankings they received in other prospect rankings.

15
While there can be an argument to take it to 30-50, beyond the top 10-15 ‘prospects’ – they really aren’t prospects are they?

I'm not so sure about that
Although the field will be harder to narrow down then. We haven’t gotten into guys like Omar Aguilar, Eric Fryer, Chris Dennis, Erik Komatsu, Cody Scarpetta, Wily Peralta, and Efrain Nieves. All could absolutely wind up in the majors. And you can also list guys like Brad Nelson, Hernan Irrabarren, etc.

Are you going to go with the most common answer?
Or an average answer?
I think 10 is enough and a solid for a majority of the readers here, beyond that… I dont know…
But when you average those that said 8 with those that said 10 and 15 and even 50…
It comes down to the question if median, mean or mode? I love 4th grade math!
The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws.

the problem
Just listing the guys by name means that about 95% of the folks are voting blind. I know that personally, I don’t want to go digging around looking for stat lines, ages, level of play, and all that stuff.
So, either cut it off now and just finish the list however you choose, or maybe list the basic info for each of the candidates.
Just my $0.02.
