Tampa showing interest in Shouse
Shouse is a Type B free agent. With Stetter and Swindle in the fold for 2009, it sounds like the Brewers are content to let him go and take the sandwich pick.
UPDATE: It's done.

Does anyone find the irony in the fact
that traditional members of the media like Tom criticize blogs for just spreading rumors by linking to other people, saying that bloggers don’t have the access that sportswriters do, and then go out and link other people and speculate just like we do.

Yeah, but he's linking to sportswriters!
Speculating based on what other sportswriters say is okay, or at least different than the some-random-person-thinks-Shouse-is-going-here-so-that’s-where-he’ll-go idea of blog speculating a lot of people have.

We're obsessed with your former LOOGYs
First Randy Choate, now Shouse, next year: Swindle.

Maybe we'll trade him to you now
Although I should warn you, Doug Melvin is not easily Swindled.
He’s not the worst pitcher ever, just the worst good pitcher.

In case anyone wondered how baseball-focused I am
An ex-student of mine just friended me on facebook — his last name is Butler. I didn’t place the name at first, and my first thought was that it was that guy who we got for Gabe Gross. Alas, minor leaguers do not seek me out on social networking sites.
Also, cheese.

Even though it would probably be to their advantage. :)
I’ll miss both Shouse and our joshing about the Shouse Fanclub. If the Rays pick up any more Brewers I’m a fan of, I guess I’ll have to make them my designated AL team.
And looks like next season’s Tampa-Seattle games are approaching must-view status for Brewers MLB.tv subscribers…

The good thing is
those two teams have two of the best SBnation blogs out there, so there’s a lot of potential for interaction and stuff.

Getting a draft pick for Brian Shouse is pretty awesome in my opinion, especially when we already picked up Swindle who I think will be pretty great. Of course I thought Riske was going to be a good pick up last year, still hoping he ends up not sucking this year.
