I'm curious...

Those of you voting for the four has-beens — Periard, Braddock, Brewer, Scarpetta — why do you like them so much? I don’t doubt there are good arguments, I’m just curious. I’ve been a bit surprised by the number of votes gotten by the people on the bottom end of each day’s poll.

Also, cheese.

I can't speak for any of the guys you mentioned

But this is my fourth straight vote for Gindl, who to me presents the best combination of proven performance and youth among the remaining options.

I don't specifically articulate my motives, because that wouldn't travel as well as a boo does.

I've also voted for Gindl the last two times.

has beens?

Aren’t all of the “has beens” 21 years old or younger?

I think at this point is nothing more than a guess anyways. Whether you’re basing your decision on Brent Brewer’s post-draft hype, Dykstra’s 170 rookie league ABs or Braddock’s 10 starts in West Virginia last year I’m sure you could find some reason to rank one player higher than another.

(I personally don’t understand how Brewer is continually so high on various rankings, my only guess is so people can say “I told you so” if he ever does put together a good year).

definitely poor choice of words

I think I was looking for “also-ran.” I just meant the guys who are clearly not in the running for this spot.

Also, cheese.

My 4th straight vote for Gindl too...

I have an unreasonable dislike of Bill Hall.
