Shouldn't it read "prospect" if we're going to include Nelson on the list?

Not a slam. He’s got his uses.

I have an unreasonable dislike of Bill Hall.

Well, Nelson hasn't contributed enough in the bigs to have lost rookie eligibility...

But he still projects to be at least a role player in the big leagues. I think it’s reasonable to compare a guy who’s hitting in A-ball but is still 3 years away from the big leagues and a guy who could contribute in 2009, but his ceiling is much lower.

I don't specifically articulate my motives, because that wouldn't travel as well as a boo does.

I think you ought to start putting fake names up there

Just to see who’s paying attention. Hey, this Haudricourt guy looks pretty good!

I voted for Nelson...

My first “donkey” vote of the series… I just love the big walrus.
After Gindl goes, I will be voting for Nelson seriously – I don’t have much faith in anyone else on this list panning out. You could even argue that he has similar upside (as a decent power stick at 1B) to some of the other guys left who project as middle relief etc…

WALRUS FOR #12 in ’09!

His name seems to pop up now and then on other team’s blogs as a possible trade target. I wonder if he could actually bring some value back in a trade (or be traded at all).

I think that although he is a drop-off from Fielder ( a big one)

He gives you the ability to trade Fielder and plug in something pretty good at 1B if the return is enough..

Especially

If we’re competing with the Rats for last place, as the evil BCB is calling for.

Speaking of

That whole Blagojevich thing went down today…

and he said he was just talking about the Cubs’ strategies… tsk tsk tsk
