King Albert has no equal!
FWIW I want to call him “Prince Albert” for the hilarity value, but just can’t because of our chubby buddy at 1B.
I don’t have a category for "washed-up guys who may or may not be dominant big-league closers sometime soon."

Let's break down the grammar here.
What we think he meant was:
“I had a good season and I deserve the award, but also Fielder and Howard [had a good season and deserve the award, too].”
That’s not what he said, though. There’s no verb after the comma, so what follows the comma is technically part of a list with “it,” which refers to the MVP award.
What he said, then, was:
“I had a good season and I deserve the award, but I also deserve Prince Fielder and Ryan Howard.”
I’m not sure if Albert is planning on a big Thanksgiving feast or what.
