Doug Jones Question

So I'm doing a project on the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers and Doug Jones pitched in 4 games during that season. In those 4 games, he had two different uniform numbers: 45 and 54. Does anyone know if he played in more games with one of those numbers? When he resurfaced with the Brewers in 96-98 he appeared as #43 so that didn't give any hints. I realize this is an odd question but figured it was worth a try asking.

Differing information

My research indicates that Doug Jones wore the number 35 in 1982. My sources are the numerous Brewer media guides in my collection. Where did you get your information?

Wow…I can’t believe I didn’t even think to check there first.

I was using Baseball Almanac.

I just went back to my ‘04 Media guide and it does say 35 with an asterisk for more than one number but it doesn’t indicate what those other numbers were. I’ll go with #35 since thats what the media guides say. I hope the other numbers from BA are correct otherwise.

Thanks for the assistance.

Blow Cubs Blow! Blow Cubs Blow! Hey Milwaukee, what do you say? The Cubs are going to lose today.

my point

I remember jones from the late 90s. I wasn’t aware he had been around since the early 80s.

well, he didn't say internet project

One thing you can say about the 1982 season—it was certainly well-documented as opposed to other Brewers seasons even without the WS appearance (thank you, Daniel Okrent)

Didn't he switch numbers to start a professional basketball career?
