The Thursday Thinker: On Managers
I mentioned in this morning's Mug that today is the seventh anniversary of the hiring of Ned Yost. Yost was the fifteenth manager of seventeen in Brewer history.
How many of the 17 can you name in five minutes?
Again, here are the rules: Post your score in the comments, but don't comment on any specific answer until after 6 pm Central time, so everyone gets a chance to try it out without having it spoiled for them. And, of course, there's no reason to cheat here, because there's no prizes.
Of the three quizzes I've posted, this is probably the easiest. If you manage to get them all, post your time along with your score in the comments. Of course, if you've only been following the Brewers for a few years, you may only remember 4-5 of them.
Have fun, and don't forget to post your score in the comments!

The 6 I knew since following the Brewers from the late 90s, and the 1 famous old-timey one. (Though not the manager[s] of the 1982 team.)

I got 9.
And: Happy Yosting Day, everyone. I was overjoyed to see that Joe Girardi marked Yosting Eve by putting in a reliever who’s allowed 14 of 27 post-season batters to reach base, simply because that reliever is his eighth inning guy.

thanks to Uek and his stories
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."

I guess the 70’s were a blur for me. Oh yeah, because I was still crapping my pants.

So you're 120?

67-94 and 22-27, I should have had. no way I would have known the spellings though.
Didn’t consider the history of the pilots contributing, but that wouldn’t have helped me anyway.

9 for me as well.
Got most of the recent ones and a few big ones from back in the day.

17! Luckily I'm a big Roy M_____ fan
(Actually, I only got 8)
Also, I had no idea that ________ managed in ’75 too.

I thought for sure you'd have the 17.
Guess this one is harder than I thought. :-)
That's all I've got for you today, unless you're interested in some Chris Capuano/Tom Haudricourt Fan Fiction.

Well, I got almost all of them from ‘87-’09 and a few others from the ‘80s. Also didn’t realize the Pilots were included, and I know who that manager was.

wow, I guess I win. I got 15 within the first couple minutes, then sat there a long time and realized that Dave Schultz might be on the list. But I never heard of McMillan. If you want to get technical, Don Baylor managed a few games, though credit for them goes to Trebelhorn, who was sitting at home serving a suspension.

yep
i was wondering about the suspension/ejection thing, but only saw one 1-1. Nonetheless I tried some random names to try to get that manager.

I didn’t remember McMillan — I am happy to say, I got 15 in about a minute or so, and I was left trying to recall Lachemann — glad to see my brain is defending itself against his reign of terror.

my brain actually froze
trying to name the current manager. I guess I must be in denial too.
but yeah…I should have had lachemann and lebebre. I found I was entering unsuccessful packers coaches in there (ie Starr) just trying to get lucky.
