And herein lies the paradox of Parra

Worst pitching performance of the year, and 4 in the 10 worst, but the only Brewer pitcher not named Yovani with one of the top 5 best

Brewers Baseball and other assorted nonsense (mostly the assorted nonsense) at my blog, What's a Tararrel?

To be fair

The start where Parra gave up 10 against FLA, he should have been pulled after he gave up the first 5 runs. That was the start where our bullpen was cashed and Macha went out and told him he was taking one for the team.

Give him an offspeed pitch down and in. He will swing and miss.

Seven of the top ten

and I knew even before I went and looked it up what game the #1 performance was. Oh, Yo. <3

I'll wager 2008's top ten had a few more with 9 IP

I’m actually a bit shocked that there were only four with at least 8 IP.

Yo’s failure to manage his pitch counts and the other four’s failure to…well, that’s the second half of the list.

The four letter network weighs in:
“Box Score Lines of the Year

Ugliest Win of the Year: Manny Parra, Brewers
Reason No. 5,847 not to take the old win column too seriously: Zack Greinke made six starts this year in which he gave up one earned run or none and didn’t get a win. But Parra somehow got a W out of this action-packed Aug. 13 start against the Padres:

5 2/3 IP, 13 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 2 HR.

Hey, it was worth it — because Parra became the first pitcher in 20 years to win a 13-hitter that included at least two walks and two gopherballs.

Special Manny Parra Bonus Box Score
But that wasn’t our man Manny’s only epic box-score adventure. On June 2, he did something no pitcher had done since Rick Reed on April 21, 2003 — strike out the first three hitters he faced and then stick around to give up at least 10 runs:

4 IP, 11 H, 10 R, 10 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 2 HR, 2 WP. "

Too late for me to care

Having troubles with wrapping my mind around Kirbir listening to T.I.

I'm amazed

there are only two Suppans on the bad list.

"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"

I was at worst game #4

It looked worse in person.
