I'm linking to the BBWAA site on this, as it's the only place I can get to with the vote totals. In any case, Casey McGehee was in fifth place with 1 first place vote, 3 second place votes, and 4 third place votes.

Editor's Note: I switched the link to Adam McCalvy, who has the full vote. -KL

The Happy Youngster

is pissed he didn’t hang onto that ball. It’s totally worth hundreds now.

1 first place vote

I wonder who gave a #1 to McGehee.

I’m a little surprised that Hanson didnt finish higher, or that McCutcheon didnt as well.

Do you think it was the same guy who had Pujols 5th on his ballot last year?

I think it was 5th, anyway.

I don’t have a category for "washed-up guys who may or may not be dominant big-league closers sometime soon."

Tough year to be an NL Rookie

McGehee definitely deserved some thought for the award, but there were a handful of guys that just had a better year than he. My vote would have been McCutcheo, Hanson, Happ

boy...he's sure out of it...

if he thought Pujols was a rookie last year ;)

Can’t argue with the results.

Each of the players finishing better had better seasons.

Drew, I just want to be sure I dispel all doubt for next year.

Changing leagues will not qualify Gomez for RotY.

You know

McGeehee’s stats compare pretty favorably to Hinske’s ROY season, though with far fewer ABs.

I have a dollar for you

If you change your signature to Rooooo-guejim!

This has the makings

of a pretty good video game. Hitman for Hire: Woodland Assassin. We’ll need to buy the rights to Booker T & the MGs’ Green Onions, though.

Tempting

But I don’t think I’ll ever give up my signature. It hearkens back to a simpler time. Memmm-ory, all alone in the moonlight, I can smile at the old days…

Did Coghlan really have that good of a year?

I haven’t checked, and don’t plan on it. I have people for that.

Alcides for RotY

Next season?

Will he still be eligible?

After getting 100+ at bats this year.

I think if he had like, 2 or 3 more ABs last season

he wouldn’t be eligible. But he still is :)
