Keith Law's take on the Brewer's plans (he's not a fan)
Great Bad Idea Jeans reference in there as well. If you don't have Espin Insider, here's the quote
"Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel writer Tom Haudricourt says it would be "a huge upset" if Mark Mulder doesn't sign with the Brewers, and that the Crew are a likely destination for Jarrod Washburn. So it looks like Doug Melvin's offseason plan is to target pitchers who haven't been good in four years -- but I figured, hey, when am I going to be back in Haiti?"

i'm just shocked that he's surprised
it’s not like this strategy is anything new, after all. last year they ended up with Looper and Hoffman. Did anyone expect Hoffman to be as good as he was?

Sometimes I think national baseball writers...
…. fall into the “they should get someone better” trap where they never bother to mention who or how. Is the above plan likely what’s going to happen? Yes. Is it likely to work? No. Is there a ready alternative? Beats the hell out of me, but I sure wish Keith Law would tell me what he thinks they should do, instead of saying what they will do sucks. That’s our job. And we’re quite good at it, thank you very much.
What begins in fear usually ends in folly.
