Brewers discussed Corey Hart for Derek Lowe
"The Braves' most extensive discussions concerning Lowe have been with the Brewers about a trade for outfielder Corey Hart, according to one source.
But the Brewers are not sure they would want Lowe even if the Braves included significant money in the deal, another source says."

Unfortunately, mlbtr is reporting now that it's unlikely.
6:36pm: MLB.com’s Mark Bowman responds to Rosenthal’s report, writing that even though they view the Brewers as a potential trade partner, the Braves aren’t interested in Hart. If Atlanta were to work out a deal with the Brewers or Angels, Bowman thinks they might be more likely to trade for prospects than a major-league outfielder.
Cards Announcers On Gamel's First Career HR, "That’s all they need is another home run hitter".
I would like that trade if the Braves picked up a big chunk of money.
If this happens, do the Brewers throw Gamel in right field right away, or do they let Gerut start?
now Melvin's obsessed with ex-Sox?
Suppan was only the beginning, in that case. I was wondering why they picked up Kapler last year.
Kapler was an ex-Ranger

Mark Bowman shot it down. He’s as close to 100% as it gets with rumors for the Bravos.
"Are you tryin to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?"
I think its funny that now the Braves don't want Hart
They were reportedly interested last off-season. I guess after his bad 2nd half in 2008 and his utterly meh 2009, the Braves have reached the same conclusion I have: Corey Hart doesn’t like to be booed, and he’s not going to just sit there and walk, but he K’s a ton and can’t seem to hit anymore, so he’s just a below average defensive player in RF. With terrible AB music.
I don’t have a category for "washed-up guys who may or may not be dominant big-league closers sometime soon."

In Atlanta
Hart’s walkup music might not seem as bad.
That's all I've got for you today, unless you're interested in some Chris Capuano/Tom Haudricourt Fan Fiction.
Very true
I didn’t consider that.
Not oddly, here’s what Mark Bowman (Braves beat reporter at mlb.com) had to say about this trade:
Indications are that the Braves don’t like Hart’s undisciplined offensive approach. The Brewers outfielder, who could draw a $5 million salary via arbitration this winter, hit .260 with 12 homers and a .753 OPS this past season.
So…I guess Frank Wren read my post?

I would agree
since 2009 looks like an outlier season in the past…what? 8?
That doesn’t change the fact that he’s owed a boatload of money over the next 3 years and he’ll be 40 when his contract expires. I’d prefer the Brewers didn’t try to become the pitching AARP of the NL.

whoops
heh. Sorry about that.
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
