Rumorville: Todd Wellemeyer?
Per John Heyman:
Wellemeyer, who posted two sub-4 ERAs before falling apart last season, would be yet another flailing St. Louis pitcher joining the club. In other sports, it's hard to maintain success because other teams keep looting your top free agents, not the worst guys you have. I think the Brewers need a LOLcat.Brewers. They've looked into Lackey, Washburn, Doug Davis, Harden and Wolf plus possible No. 5-type guys Mark Mulder and Todd Wellemeyer. Mulder could reconnect with pitching coach Rick Peterson.

note to Jon Heyman:
Stuff user “morineko” has posted on BCB in a futile attempt at sarcastic humor should not be counted as a free agency rumor. Her closest contact to the Brewers FA is knowing the guy who used to service the phones in Bud Selig’s office.
Also, I have it on good authority that a majority of MLB clubs have looked into every starting pitcher who can raise his arm above his head, and a good majority of those have looked into guys who still have a pulse and will react to external stimuli. This has been the case since at least 1976.
He makes being hated classy.
