Escobar
Is tearing it up. Great glove, good speed, hits for average – only a matter of time before we trade him to Houston.
Forgive the humor
I’m hoping he turns out to be a good SS for a long time for the Brewers, but if not then there’s always the option of sending him (Spiers, Listach, Loretta) to Houston.
Good line for Hiram.
I will follow him this year in the box scores. Anyone know anything about him?
The basics
He’s a 22 year old college pitcher, drafted in the sixth round in 2009. He pitched for Bethune Cookman.
He spent the last few months of 2009 in Helena, where he gave up a bunch of runs (5.62 ERA), and was pretty hittable (11.7 H/9), but didn’t walk many batters (2.2/9) and struck out plenty (8.3/9).
He’ll probably get promoted to Wisconsin to start 2009, and that might be his first time pitching in cold weather, so that could be interesting.
That's all I've got for you today, unless you're interested in some Chris Capuano/Tom Haudricourt Fan Fiction.
