Thank you for a great year!
As we count down the final minutes of 2009, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for making 2009 an incredibly successful year for BCB.
Earlier today (sometime around 11 am), the 2,000,000th visitor stopped by this site. If you've been around for a while, you'll know that we reached one million last December, so we've roughly doubled the site's traffic total since turning the calendar over to 2009:
| Year | Visits |
| 2006 | 123,014 |
| 2007 | 359,194 |
| 2008 | 506.205 |
| 2009 | 977,338 |
Just like I did when we reached one million, I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who's helped us reach this point. We've added several new contributors this year, and they've done a great job, as have the contributors who preceded them. In addition, I've been thrilled with the work of our new weekend editors. Having them on board producing consistent weekend content has been a huge step towards my goal: making this the best place on the web to talk Brewers regardless of the day of week, season or offseason, or time of day.
This week has been a perfect example of what I'm trying to accomplish here. Saying it's been a slow news week would be a massive understatement. There's nothing going on this week. Even Adam McCalvy and Tom Haudricourt went on vacation, leaving us to our own devices to find things to discuss and keep the hot stove warm. Not only has there been a Mug every day this week, there have still been dozens of comments on each of them.
Of course, most of the credit for that belongs to you, the reader. Thank you for taking the time to make BCB a part of your day, whether you're here every day, some days, or you're here for the first time (people got here today by searching "Wonder bread," "cubs blow ups" and "facepalm quotes"). I hope you've been entertained at times, informed at others, or simply enjoyed being a part of our community.
With a new milestone comes a new goal: I want to reach three million by the end of October. I think that's an attainable mark, and I'm hoping you'll help us reach it.
At any rate, thanks for being a part, however large or small, of what we've been able to accomplish here. Also, if you're reading this after midnight, happy new year. Friday's Mug will be up in a few hours, but it will most likely be a little late, depending on when I get to bed tonight.

hopefully 2010 can bring us more success than 2009
and even more visitors to BCB (the not crappy one)
"This one means 'Kill Kirk!!!!'... And also, 'hallelujah'... Depending on the context."
I read a lot and contribute very little
but I appreciate what BCB is all about. You guys help make Brewers sports better, adding a dimension of passion and analyis hard to find elsewhere.
I second this...
Thanks!

Congratulations BCB
I’ve been so impressed with this site and the people that frequent it since I found it last off-season. It has increased my baseball vocabulary and knowledge immensely by the conversation that takes place and by the links in the mugs. I am sure that many other Brewers fans share these sentiments, and I look forward to taking my fan-IQ to another level this year. Thanks for all your hard work and keep it up.
Old school
I thought that this site was more progressive than using counting stats. Can’t we find a stat like Good Post Percentage (GPP) to see how many of these visitors posted a Ned quote, made fun of Soup’s contract, or lobbied for us to trade Prince for Pujols, Cy Young, and the original beer barrel slide from County Stadium?

Cheers to KL, the other contributors and the community
Even on a slow day where the best the mug can be is general baseball content, this community jumps in – some commenter, somehow, finds a way to make to make the news applicable to the Brewers , or at least a hell of a lot more entertaining.
The majority of commenters are well-informed, and while there are certainly disagreements, discussion is generally good-natured. A healthy dose of humor is the icing on the cake.
I don’t comment much – odds are if I know something, I learned it here – but I read daily, and am looking forward to doing so throughout 2010 and beyond. Thanks everyone!
Thank you for a great site
There’s a reason that traffic to the site is so high. KL (and the rest of the contributors) deliver a great product. The posts are high-quality and I can always count on at least one new post every day. It’s becomemy one stop for all Brewer news.
Keep up the great work.

I’d rather be celebrating a playoff birth! Love the site, KL, thanks for all the hard work.

Yes... But...
Don’t you think the two are related? Surely if the Brewers are in the hunt for a playoff birth in 2010 then more people will be checking out Brewers news and information online. Which means more people will be coming to this website.
That is basically how I came to find this site last April and I have been back virtually every single day since then.
I'll surely take both, but I'll certainly care about one more than the other.
