Winter League Update for 12/8/2009

In the Dominican Republic:

  • Erick Almonte went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI Sunday. He's now reached base safely in seven straight games, and 27 of 28.
  • Carlos Gomez went 1-for-6 with a stolen base and scored two runs for Escogito Sunday.
  • Juan Sandoval allowed a hit to the only batter he faced Sunday. He hasn't recorded an out in his last two appearances.

In Puerto Rico:

  • Martin Maldonado went 0-for-5 for Mayaguez, dropping his PWL line to .107/.219/.107.
  • Hiram Burgos allowed one run on one hit and three walks in 5.1 innings of work for Mayaguez, picking up his second consecutive win. He struck out two batters in the outing.
