What Now?
The next question for Doug is where to go from here having spent most of his available money on Randy Wolf (3yrs 29.75 mil) and LaTroy Hawkins (2yrs 7.5 mil). Rather than continue to discuss as to whether too much was given to either of the players what do you do if you're Melvin having said he wanted two starting pitchers in the offseason?
While I don't know what non-tender is in reference to with regards to Bush if it means anything like dropping him and picking up his 4 million to add to the 1 or 2 million we have left to sign a guy to a 1yr 5 mil deal in a month I'm all for it.

I think I read somewhere
that he plans to wait until later in the offseason, when the price come down.
He probably should have picked up his starters at the Brewers Clubhouse Sale.

HardenHardenHarden.
Oh pllllleeeeaaasseee Harden.
In reality though, the Brewers payroll is already close to its breaking point, and we still do need to go through arbitration with several players. Because of that, I think the most likely thing to happen is that our rotation is going to be Gallardo-Wolf-Parra-Bush-Suppan. Capuano and Halama and Narveson will be back-up if someone gets hurt. If we do pick up another pitcher, it will probably have to be in a trade where our salary would stay the same.
And...
looking for $12M/year.
Best of luck with that, Ben.

No kidding.
Is his agent going to try to convince teams it’s the 2004 offseason and not 2009?

His agent is always Close
not always to a deal, though.

was anyone else watching the MLB network when they were recapping the wolf signing
and one of guys said Brewers sign Ben Sheets for three years! he corrected himself seconds later; but i was worried there for a second.
Duchscherer's still available, no?
No clue what his agent is looking for, but it seems reasonable to stretch the payroll a couple mil – something Mark A. has been willing to do in the past – for a pitcher of his potential.
Correia and Bonser are also inexpensive options, especially if Boof would sign a minor league deal (unlikely) or a split deal (more likely).
wait
Boof to the Sawx, Correia hasn’t been non-tendered yet. Neither is an improvement over our own likely non-tender Son of Clung. Correia might be cheaper but would have to accept a spot in our pen.

Bedard and Duschsh are still out there.
Somewhere. Holding their arms.

The Pirates will sign Duch for like $2mm
and we will be face-palming all over again.
Wolf out. Hawk in(s).
