Kendall to catch less?
I'm guessing this will be music to many fan's ears:
"I could see him getting at least one day off a week, but he's not going to be happy about it," said Macha, who was Kendall's manager in Oakland in 2005 and 2006. "It's just too bad."
What a manager says on February 16th and what he actually does throughout the season can be drastically different, but I think this is a good sign nonetheless.

Music to many fans ears until they realize just how much of an aberration Mike Rivera’s 2008 offensive stat line was.

I don’t think people are expecting much out of Mike Rivera in 2009 or looking too much into his small number of plate appearances last year. Its about getting Kendall more off days.
Kendall isn’t a great offensive weapon that needs to be in the lineup everyday, and his .592 OPS last September might have been a sign that he was fatigued at the end of the year. Keeping him rested and getting the most out of him throughout the year is the issue, not getting Rivera more PAs.

Ah, I see.
See, I don’t ever expect anything from Kendall offensively, so as long as his defense is +, and his pitch calling is on, I could care less how many days he gets off.

So you are saying you care a great deal?

I’m slightly above zero. It’s possible for me to care less, but not much less.
