The Brewer Advent Calendar #11: Manny Parra
Behind door #11 we find...Manny Parra!
2008 was Manny Parra's first season as a full-time starter in the major leagues, and while he wore out toward the end of the season, he still posted a 4.39 ERA (98 ERA+) in 166 innings. While that may not seem all that impressive, only seven other left handers in Brewer history have posted an ERA+ of 98 or better while pitching 166 or more innings:
| Pitcher | Seasons |
| Teddy Higuera | 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1990 |
| Bill Travers | 1976, 1979 |
| Mike Caldwell | 1978, 1979 |
| Scott Karl | 1996, 1997 |
| Doug Davis | 2004, 2005 |
| Chris Capuano | 2005, 2006 |
| Jerry Augustine | 1976 |
| Manny Parra | 2008 |

It will be interesting to see what Parra does this year. If you take out his horrendous September in 2008, you have a good season there. Maybe Castro can figure out how to improve his control.
