Brewers 5, Angels 3
W: Richie Gardner (1-0)
L: Rich Thompson (0-1)
S: Nick Green (1)
In his final game before departing to train with Team USA, Ryan Braun gave the Brewers the lead with an RBI single in the third. A rally fueled by two wild pitches and a Prince Fielder RBI single put the Brewers up 3-0 after five innings. The Angels clawed back to tie the game against AAA pitchers Matt Ginter and Richie Gardner, but toolsy prospect Brent Brewer's go-ahead home run was followed by back-to-back doubles by Braun and Scott Thorman and the Brewers held on to win 5-3.

That's more good news on Brewer
He hit 2 homers last year, and I think both of them were really late in the year. Then he went crazy on the Arizona Fall League, and hit a homer here— maybe the light is going on.

What happens if, all of a sudden, Brent Brewer locks in and becomes a great prospect?
The Brewers would than have three potential Shortstops in him, Hardy, and Escobar. What would happen than: a trade, changing positions or both?

I jizz in my pants
Semi-kidding aside, I would bet one get moved and one gets traded…now your guess is as good as mine as to which would be moved and traded, but boy just imagine the possibilities.

by the time Brewer potentially matters
Hardy is FA or close, so if he really does turn it around, they probably just let Hardy walk then deal with Esco and Brewer.
And I don’t think Brewer is locked into SS at all. He’s been error prone to a Gamel-esque extent, and I think people have been saying he might end up in CF since he was drafted.
Also, cheese.

That was my understanding, too-- CF
Too bad there aren’t any Brewer prospect gurus around these parts that could shed more light on the situation.

I heard the worst case is he winds up playing first base
Laying down, letting guys step on him to beat out infield singles.
