White Sox 6, Brewers 2
W: Octavio Dotel (1-1)
L: Jorge Julio (0-1)
HR: Wilson Betemit (2), Javier Castillo (1)
Dave Bush started and had an impressive performance, allowing two hits in the first, then retiring ten in a row to finish off his four innings of shutout work. He struck out two and did not allow a walk.
David Riske made his spring debut, and gave up a home run on his first Cactus League pitch to Wilson Betemit. All told, he pitched one inning, giving up two hits with no walks or strikeouts.
Jorge Julio gave up five straight hits in the seventh, allowing three runs to score. Javier Castillo hit a two run shot off of Chase Wright to extend the lead to 6-1. Brent Brewer drove in Mat Gamel with an RBI single in the ninth to close the gap to 6-2.
At the plate, Casey McGehee started at third base and went 3-for-3, singling three times. Trot Nixon, Brendan Katin, Jonathan Lucroy and Alcides Escobar started in the 6-9 holes, respectively, and went a combined 0-for-11 with 6 strikeouts.

Katin
What’s the point of him starting at DH, striking out, and calling it a day? I wonder if Gamel needed more time to get loose.
Regarding Adam Russell, it’s not a good sign when you pitch 1.1 scoreless innings and your spring ERA is still closer to 20 than 10.

That might be his last AB in big league camp this spring.
It reeked of “Ok, here’s one chance to impress me.” And he K’d, so with a runner on the next time, Gamel was brought in.
"The reports are that he is getting better. The definition of better is nebulous."
