Brewers 4, Diamondbacks 1
W: Yovani Gallardo (2-1)
L: Chad Qualls (0-1)
S: Jorge Julio (1)
It would be hard to be much more dominant than Yovani Gallardo was today, pitching five shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking three and striking out three. From there, Mark DiFelice took over and pitched three innings, allowing just one run on one hit and striking out two. Jorge Julio pitched a perfect ninth for his first save.
The Brewers broke through for a run in the fourth inning off of Chad Qualls, then tacked on three more against Leo Rosales and Seth Etherton.
Casey McGehee started at second base and went 2-for-4 and made a nice play in the field. Alcides Escobar went 2-for-4 with a stolen base (his third) and drove in the game's first run.

Seth Etherton is still around?
Was he ever good?
Obscure baseball records and more at my blog, Recondite Baseball.
Not today, anyway.
"The reports are that he is getting better. The definition of better is nebulous."
Anybody else concerned with Yo's walks?
Or are we hoping he’s struggling with command because of his long lay-off.
