Rumorville: Sergio Miranda
Rambling Al is reporting that the Brewers have traded for the inimitable Sergio Miranda. I haven't seen confirmation from the usual sources, though Brewerfan.net linked to this thread on soxtalk.com.
Sergio Miranda is a middle infielder (stats here). Here is a review of his mad skillz:
Sergio Miranda. After dominating Great Falls, he did decent at Kanny. With Silviero (sp?) and Ramirez getting all the SS attention, it'll be interesting to see if he can have an impressive '08 to give us surprising depth up the middle down on the farm.
One Sox fan opines that the White Soz could use someone like TG Jr. Sold!
(Actually, the rumor is the trade went down yesterday. Someone want to wake Tom Haudricourt?)

BF.net poster got this response from Haudricourt
The guy played in Class A ball last year. Is this a big deal for you? If true, it’s obviously a minor transaction.
TH
Assuming it’s not part of a bigger deal, that is. And Doug Melvin told me yesterday he was engaged in no trade talks with another club.
If I was a MLB beat writer and a fan that was passionate enough to care about something like that sent me an email, I’d find out as soon as possible if it were true. Also, the signature usually goes after message.
Sergio’s minor league lines look decent, but he looks like a Zelous Wheeler to me. Some decent patience, not much power— even going back to college, he only hit 2 homers in 250 abs (check out his MLS page and click the “07” on the left side of the dash).

If you don’t like getting scooped by the Internets…then don’t get scooped!
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"

So what if it's a minor transaction?
It’s Brewers news. Sheesh.

and print media did pick up on it!
It was on the Baseball America prospects blog, and the last time I checked, that was a professional publication.
