Jenkins Released by Phillies
Per Rotoworld - Phillies released outfielder Geoff Jenkins.
Signed to a two-year, $13 million contract last offseason, Jenkins lost his starting job to Jayson Werth and is now completely out of the Phillies' plans after hitting just .246/.301/.392 last season. He still has some value as a platoon player or bench bat, but at 34 years old Jenkins is likely done as a regular and the Phillies have the similarly skilled Matt Stairs around to take his at-bats.

wow… that is too bad.
I really see the youth movement taking shape in MLB.

I heard he might help coach the Browns.
We've got uniforms and everything, it's really great!

All I can say is that’s really sad. Hope he finds a team some time soon.

hmmmm
Theoretically, a left handed bat with some power, good defense and small financial cost would be able to help out a right hand dominated team without a real good option for a 4th OF, right?

Theoretically
But to get him for one season, one would have to DFA Brad Nelson, who may perform at a similar level and be under team control for six seasons.

Well, as things stand right now they'd have to DFA both
They’d have to keep Duffy, because if Jenkins (or Nelson) was on the roster Duffy would be the only backup who could play center.

Well, if Mustache did with Trot Nixon....
I don’t know if offering Jenkins a minor league deal with the team would be the best route to go, given his history with the club. But lets say, hypothetically, an outfielder gets hurt down the stretch and Jenkins is absolutely mashing down in AAA. Who better to be the hero than an old one?
How far will this one fly?
