We need a photoshop wizard around here
Someone needs to put Hoffman in that picture for when he comes back. Coffey or Villy would work too.

Soto
Is his injury enough to keep him from batting?
Obscure baseball records and more at my blog, Recondite Baseball.
I assume so
Or it wouldn’t have been Aaron Miles that batted yesterday.

According to gameday
That first ball was closer to the zone than any of the first three strikes.

When you can hear how obnoxious the Cubs fans are on the radio...
you know they’re bad.
Bases loaded
That was pretty rough to listen too as well.
"You have no honor!" - McClung to Fukudome
Well for the first few innings I could hear someone hecking the hitters
COOOOORRREYYY. YOU SUUUUUUCK
A little disappointed
I didn’t hear any good Zambrano hecklers this time. Usually they’re great.
"You have no honor!" - McClung to Fukudome
Just look at the the PBP
The sixth and seventh innings particularly.

If I were Fontenot
I’d be pissed at Theriot for wasting my 13-pitch gritfest

Anundsen in Brevard
6 IP, 1 run … and he gets the loss.
Offense: 3 hits (including a Gillespie triple), 1 walk, and 3 errors.
Also, cheese.
Most importantly, Brent Brewer walked
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
Hmm. This Rivera guy seems like he's pretty good at hitting.
When did we pick him up?
:) + Suppan = :'(
If he hits a HR
Does he get a bigger helmet?

Also Rally Lobster. Any other good luck charms around?

Does the rally lobster only work once a game?
Or is it there whenever we need it?
Cub fans
I understand why they get the crummy seats. Most Brewer fans I know want nothing to do with the Cub games (and if you have ever been to a Cub Miller game, you know why) and so the Cub fans are going to eat up all the upper deck/lousy tickets available.
What I have never been able to understand is why so many of the season ticket holders sell their tickets to Cub fans (ie. right behind the plate, behind the bases).
I don’t know…maybe they get such a premium price from the brokers that it allows them to take a huge bite out of the cost of season tickets.
yeah
and if they are putting tickets up on stubhub (which it seems like everybody is doing now) you don’t know who you’re selling to. The money has got to be hard to pass up.
Also, cheese.

I was talking to some Cubs fans yesterday that got a 9 pack.
so they could get Opening Day seats. I think they were Brewer fans too, but the Cubs were more important.
ok ok ok
weeks walk/then steal, hart bunt, braun walkoff

I'd say that jinxes it
but last time Braun drew a walk, which is better than nothing

All set up
For a Braun walk-off shot

Braun's walkoff FC will forever remain an asterisk
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
Still counts as a fielder's choice
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
Yes
The idea being Theriot could’ve gotten the out at 2nd, or at 1st, instead of going home.
Obscure baseball records and more at my blog, Recondite Baseball.
Two sliders in a row he could have hit
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
Do you run Hart?
They would walk Prince, but is JJ getting a hit a better bet than Prince going deep?
last two sliders were questionable and inside imo

Did you see this nimrod? Fine, wave your flag..but he is looking around to see who is looking at him.
Example #267 why I hate games at Miller Park against the Cubs…look at me…look at me…I am Cubs fan…dickhead.
For those of you not watching the game on TV
Soriano just gathered the other outfielders and did a 3-way hipbump to mock our outfielders.
they do that after every win.

Asshole.
Does he not realize that his shit defense helped the cubs lose the game yesterday as much as his HR won it today for them?
:) + Suppan = :'(
I remember when Cubs folks complained the Brewers did it to mock them. I think both teams started doing it around the same time, not that it matters.
Obscure baseball records and more at my blog, Recondite Baseball.
Actually, now that I think about it
Don’t we do a high five instead of a hip bump? I think it was just the way he gathered his troops, that made it look like he was up to something.
Now no one's going to want to do a recap
I can if no one else wants to. Bk or Jay you guys want it?
The artist formerly known as jihad.
Even when I do write a recap, I'm going to start the thread with just the WPA graph from FanGaphs
Then I’ll edit it after I come up with something. But not tonight.
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
Good plan, I'll just post another story and submit for distribution with the score and : Recap after it for tonight
Unless you have a better idea
