The Brewers lost their fourth straight game tonight, managing just one run on four hits against Bronson Arroyo. Manny Parra deserved better, he allowed just three runs on three hits in six innings, striking out four and walking four. The two run home run he allowed to Jerry Hairston in the third was the deciding factor.

The Brewers were held to just four hits and four walks, including two walks by Corey Hart, tying a career high. The Brewers had runners in scoring position and one out or less in the third, fourth and seventh innings but did not score.

The game was closer than the score would indicate: the Reds scored three in the ninth to expand the lead to five.

Hmm

Where does Owings bat in that lineup?

dusty runs the reds

so owings is batting 9th, because that is the pitchers spot in the lineup.

Yeah, Bill, I tend to strongly disagree there.

Its Micah Owings vs Braden Looper tomorrow.

Parra did not look bad, but the 4 walks are always going to hurt you.

Tomorrow should be interesting

it will be Owings first start of the season, he was slated to start Saturday, but was pushed back due to a rainout. He may be rusty.

The Trenni Theory

With Trenni gone, the Brewers just don’t have any reason to win anymore.

I think we set a season high in page views today!

Any other good news would be appreciated.

So what is the RISP BA?

The Brewers went through a horrendous slump in BA with RISP last season. It appears to have hit early. Villenueva’s Spring Training control problems appear to have moved into the regular season. Any more out of him and he might need a phantom injury too. This wasn’t how I envisioned the beginning of the season.

And to think

we’ve only had one inning of Riske en route to 2-6.

As a team, we’re OPSing .726. (Imagine a lineup full of Johnny Estradas.) On the flip side, our team ERA is 6.30, and only one of our starters has an ERA under 6.

You know, boys, that’s not so good. How long before Marty starts www.rehirenedyost.com? :)
