"The reports are that he is getting better. The definition of better is nebulous."
Also

whoa
I grew up in Spokane, Washington, home of the short-season A Spokane Indians. Very, very few alums made it to the big leagues from the years I went to a lot of games, but Painter was one. Can’t believe I remember the guy from the low minors in 1990.
Also, cheese.

jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
Also a Badger Baseball Alum
From the 2nd last team UW had – 1990. Their last year was ’91, I believe.

"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
He got DL'ed today, but I'm not sure why.

Mark Rogers at Brevard
Two uneventful innings (two singles, one strikeout), then pulled with one out in the third after another single and a walk.
Rattlers down 2-0 through 2.

With runners on first and third:
Juan Sanchez pops into double play, shortstop Terry Serrano to second baseman Luis Nunez to catcher Travis Howell. Brock Kjeldgaard out at home. John Delaney out at 2nd. Juan Sanchez to 1st.
Whaaa…?
The pop up dropped, leading to a force at second.
Then they caught the runner trying to go home on the throw to second.

He did get hit by a pitch next time up.
And reacted by stealing second.

No infield fly rule?

Not if Kjeldgaard was on third to start the play
Infield fly requires runners on first and second or bases loaded with less than two out. There’s also no infield fly rule on popped up bunts.

Gamel with his fourth error
