how about some insurance runs
"Cubs fans boo again – 99% of these people can’t see the plate." -Ueck
Badger Mutual Insurance runs, no less.
"The reports are that he is getting better. The definition of better is nebulous."
A Schneider truckload of them.

Earl Weaver invented it, apparently
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
Coffey was leading the staff in WPA with .70 before today's game
DiFelice was second with .15, so obviously the lead will grow. Braden Looper is the top starter at .14, and Gallardo is at a flat zero. Everyone else is negative.
Gallardo is leading the team in hitting WPA, though.
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
And, if everything holds at present levels
Coffey will also be MVP today for the second time, becoming only the third Brewer to do it more than once.
"The reports are that he is getting better. The definition of better is nebulous."
Today's game puts Coffey over a full win added for the season
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
if you add JJ and Prince's batting average
you almost get to .300 – sigh
Half a league, half a league, half a league onward, all in the valley of death rode the Brewer's bullpen.
If Prince keeps swinging at anything
he’s not likely to get out of the slump anytime soon. Maybe he can take some hitting lessons from Corey Hart.
He has a 10/15 BB/K on the year
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
You and your "stats"
I prefer to believe the handful of at-bats I’ve seen while the NextDef actually eff’ing functioned. Anecdotal evidence is king!
So assuming no one gets on, Coffey comes back out for the 8th, right?
Who’s pitching the 9th?
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
Clung?
It probably shouldn’t be Villy, and almost certainly won’t be Swindle or Julio.
"The reports are that he is getting better. The definition of better is nebulous."
BA says Coffey, maybe
I’m guessing Hoolio
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
McClung has allowed a run in four out of five appearances this year
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
So the Braves close a three game series with the Pirates today.
They were outscored 13-0 in the first two games, and now lead 10-0 in the seventh inning of game 3.
"The reports are that he is getting better. The definition of better is nebulous."
How can you complain about that being called a strike?

Looked the same as strike 2 to me.
by Ted Simmons Speed Camp on Apr 19, 2009 2:50 PM CDT up reply actions
Gameday has it right on top of strike 2
It also thinks both were inside, but that ball 1 was right down the middle.
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
Thanks!
You reminded me - I had rewound the game on DVR a little bit ago, and forgot I wasn’t watching live.
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
Go back!
Back to the 7th inning!

Michael J. Fox is waiting there for you!

Ronald Reagan? The actor?
And who’s vice-president? Jerry Lewis?
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
i'm starting to wonder
if coffey’s manly physique may be impinging on his ability to be any better than a roogy though
I don't think Coffey's going to be able to complete a 2.1 inning save.
"The reports are that he is getting better. The definition of better is nebulous."
Wow
This season is going to kill me.
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
yes
I was thinking that I shouldn’t been this wound up in April

I think the runners were on the move.

Wow
When we need an inning-ending double-play, I guess we call on Coffey.

loving his ERA
not the suspense he puts us in

20 pitches for Coffey
The 9th will be entertaining.

Bring in RJ
Let’s make it real interesting.

I'd bring him in to face Delgado, if it gets to that point.
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
Not that I want it to get to Delgado, but if it does I would love to see a sportcenter recap with Delgado looking silly swinging at a 55 mph curveball.

Really pulling for Nelson
to get off the schnide.
Nope.
Coffey bunting for himself.
"The reports are that he is getting better. The definition of better is nebulous."
I guess all you need to do to make sure the home team fields like crap
is to hand out Gold Gloves at the beginning of the game.
Guess it'll be Coffey
Pull a Matt Wise here.
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
Nice sac bunt
Coffey does it all.
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
I'm having a hard time believing what I'm seeing here.
A third inning for Coffey.
Good God man.
At first I thought it was Nelson, and then, “why the f*** are they having Nelson bunt?”
by Ted Simmons Speed Camp on Apr 19, 2009 3:05 PM CDT reply actions
And why did Nelson die his hair red?
jeff: but i shudder to think of the bullpen analogy to sending the runner
In my defense...
… they have the same…. uh…. body type.
Call it a swimmer’s build.

Macha riding the hot hand
Coffey will pitch every single inning for the Brewers until he gives up an earned run.
Ryan Braun: He loves it.
He's got a day off tomorrow
To rest up before starting Tuesday.
"The reports are that he is getting better. The definition of better is nebulous."
It'd only be a 2.1 inning save.
There were two outs when he came in during the 7th.
"The reports are that he is getting better. The definition of better is nebulous."
well...
wouldn’t be 3 complete…but still;)
would be nice if you could get credit for 2 saves
by PagsBrewCrew on Apr 19, 2009 3:09 PM CDT up reply actions
nice
he will have 2 saves and half an RBI today

Good question
No one knows. The bullpens in Citi are in another dimension.

we just need rally liquids in the future to celebrate the all-star combination of suppan and coffey. i nominate x-lax.

because we need some runs.

Whew
I’ll take it
Half a league, half a league, half a league onward, all in the valley of death rode the Brewer's bullpen.
That was awesome....
Glad to see the close ones start going our way!
Suppan, who has seen his ERA rise from 4.12 in his final year in St. Louis to 4.62 in 2007 and 4.96 last year, isn't an option in fantasy leagues - Rotoworld
And hopefully not
by going 0-3.
