Questions about watching the Brewers?
I recently moved to eau claire and just realized that I do not get the Brewers games!! I am a die hard Brewer fan! We have charter cable and we get FSN but we get the minn. network instead of the wisconsin one, which really pisses me off. So now I got to decide what to do next. I was thinking about moving, but that sounds like alot of work just to watch the Brewers. (but would be worth it) so instead I was thinking about getting MLB tv on the computer and was wondering if anyone has it and what they think of it. I see they have two options, the regular one and the premium, and was wondering if it is worth it to get the premiuim one. It says it has HD in the premium, but I wonder how good the picture actaully is on the computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

MLB radio is quality too.
I’ve been living in Washington DC for the last few years, and MLB radio is a steal at 15 or so dollars for the entire season. You get to hear Uecker call every game. I’ve never watched MLB tv though, so I can’t comment on it.

Wouldn't Eau Claire be within blackout range?
I put 54701 in the ‘blackout finder’ (at the bottom) and it says both Brewers and Twins live video feeds are blacked out in Eau Claire. There is probably a way to get around the restrictions if you really want to…

I had your worries too
I moved to Eau Claire last year and had the same scare. The good thing is, when the season starts FSN North switches to FSN Wisconsin so we get the games.

OK
A buddy told me the same thing but I am still really nervous. What is the zip code where you live?? Because I heard that 54703 get the Brewers but 54701 don’t. And guess where I live. I wish they had switched it over already because there has already been a few srpgin training games on and I would rather watched those then the t wolves

Do not get mlb.tv to watch Brewers games if you live near Wisconsin

Unless you're actually in the Twin Cities
The Brewers are not blacked out here…other places, um, very very blacked out.

If you do find a way to work around the blackout
I know that you can start with the regular and upgrade later by paying the difference

If your cable provider offers the MLB package, I would go with that, I prefer it anyway

what they said
MLB.tv is great and the premium is definitely worth the extra $20 or $30. They’ve added a bunch of new features for Premium that I’m excited for, like the DVR and a picture-in-picture type feature.
but, alas, it will do you no good in Eau Claire unless you can work around the blackout.

The past couple years Ive done MLB.TV
unfortunately, every time they played remotely near my market (I live in Dallas), they’d be blacked out. It was such an annoyance that this year I am going with the MLB Extra Innings package. A buddy of mine had it last year, and the big thing is that he gets a ton of games in HD.
I just sit back and root for the taser

There’s always the lower quality, free, online possibility…

What he said.
I spent time in Iowa, which is blackout hell, and I was forced to seek solace in the arms of nefarious foreign entities to get my Brewers fix.

Charter
I live in Menomonie and therefore get Charter cable out of EC. MOST of the time you will get the brewers games… as In most of the season you can watch all of the games that are on FSN-Wisconsin.
One notable exception that caused me to fire off a few angry e-mails. Begining of last year, brewer game suppose to be on, Tv-guide.com even said so. I turn it on and BOOM there is a T-wolves game…. I looked up their record at the time and they were something like 16-52. I was furious.

mlbtv premium
Go for the mlbtv premium if you have a high speed connection.
I was in Hudson and had DishNetwork and got most of the games for free because I billed out of a WI zip code. Moved to Woodbury, MN and couldn’t get it. DirecTv was my only option other than mlbtv.
I’d go for DishNetwork and enjoy most of the games for free.

Not on Dish Network
Dish network no longer offers the Extra Innings package.

YES on DishNetwork
The best part is they don’t offer Extra Innings and I still got it! I never purchased Extra Innings (wasn’t available last year or this one) and I still got the games. IF you are in Wisconsin, and BigDogg2002 is, then you will get it on FSN Wisconsin… Jerry Garcia commercials and everything.
