Is he a good fit for the Brewers?

He'd probably be somewhere between Braden Looper and Jeff Suppan
If he’d be okay getting stashed in AAA as insurance, I’d sign him, but it sounds like he wants to be in someone’s rotation.

You mean literally?
Like, do we have enough people to fill out the rotation? Sure. But as a guy who’s experienced plenty of Major League success, Byrd would take precedence over a guy like Chase Wright.

I don't know.
I think I would rather have a guy like Chase Wright, et al. getting starting experience over a 38 year old pitcher “somewhere between Braden Looper and Jeff Suppan”. At least the other guys in Nashville’s rotation have upside and could conceivably be better. I would rather have those guys starting than someone who is marginally better than Chase Wright or Nick Green, but will suck up time that could be used to grow younger pitchers.
Besides all that, if I want an injured starter, I’d rather have Mark Mulder than Paul Byrd.
:) + Suppan = :'(
Untradeable? Yes.
Would they move him to the bullpen? I doubt it; if he loses his starting job, he’ll probably get released. Now, will he losing his starting job? We’ll see. Doug Melvin certainly isn’t going to eat Suppan’s fat salary just to create an opening for Paul F. Byrd, though.

If Suppan keeps having starts like his first two, he better be gone.
I sure hope he keeps up like his last start, though.
