It is nice to see him put together another nice start. As much as I like Gamel’s line as well, I don’t think there is another prospect in the system at this point that can have as big of an impact on the organization as Jeffress can if he can continue to consistently perform at a high level.

I think Salome is actually the more important defensive project

Obviously he’s not hitting either, but I think he gets a pass because of his injury; everyone knows he can hit. If Salome can play acceptable defense, he’s such a huge upgrade over Kendall it’s not even funny. Of course, unlike the Hall/Gamel situation at third, Kendall’s position almost certainly would not be usurped in-season.

He played for Northeastern U

He wasn’t drafted. Here’s a news article from NU: link. Shockingly, he’s Canadian. Stats: 2008 and 2007. Solid K/BB ratios, but nothing too exciting in the rest of his numbers. According to my stats, his GB:FB was about even each of the last two years.

Also, cheese.
